ill have to see a replay of it before i could say - but from what i have know of ruutu, he definitely tries to agitate - but he never struck me as someone who would do that type of stuff.

ruutu comes close to crossing the line sometimes - but at least ruutu seems to know where the line is and doesnt cross it - unlike avery or hollweg and others.

he can trash talk with the best of them - but sometimes i think his reputation precedes him. im suprised he would "bite" someone, but if he did, then he deserves a suspension - i've got no problem with that.

thats a pretty crappy replay of it - but it certainly looks like he did something to him. there might also be a bit of exaggeration on peters part though. i would assume the annoucers blame it partly on the building frustration ottawa has for how crappy they have been playing lately..

it will be interesting to see what colin campbell thinks on this one..

I could forgive it if he was getting his eye gouged at the time, but biting a guy other than to save your vision seems a bit excessive. I'm sure he'll have to answer to someone with a bag full of knuckles.

Why not, I do. My issue with the NHL is that the suspensions for dangerous actions is less than that one, dangerous acts should be more severely penalized. Ruutu is also a multiple offender, let's see what happens here.

TSN just did a Top 10 "biting" moments in Sports...I was surprised how often NHL was on the list. And, the panel (Duthie, Torts, Ray Ferraro & Bobby Mac) were talking about how often it does happen. Apparently more often than I ever thought.

Peters is as bad a Ruutu. If some guy is always giving other players a face wash he should expect some payback. If some wanker did that repeatly to me and if his finger ended up in my mouth, I'd bite him as well. If Peters was not such a whimp he would have been a man and just got Ruutu back later on in the game, I guess he was worried he could not carry his purse in the manner he was acustomed. Hockey is for tuff guys!
