Best Sticks UNDER $100.00

Recommended Posts

SportChek (in Canada) had the CCM V115 Pro Stock for C$59.99. They had them for $39.99 for one week and on Boxing Day. It's a great deal at $39.99 IMO.

Maybe you can find some V115s in the US.

From what I've read, these are very durable.

I'll give a vote to a 2-piece or a pro stock stick as well. I got a new pro stock RBK 7V in Vancouver for about $60 US at the time. I think a two piece is the most cost effective way to go though. I've been through 3 or 4 blades since last summer, but my shafts are all still going strong.

i got a pack of one90's a while ago... buying one would have been over $100, but i think a 2-or-more-pack brings the price under 100/ea. it's an absolute tank, and a brilliant top-end shooter's stick. i actually wound up having to sell a couple of them because the ones i'm using are still going strong. i thought they would have broken a long time ago.

i'm also a huge fan of the good ol' sherwood woodies. they're surprisingly light and very cheap.

how long do wood blades last with out use??? I have a pack of branches blades i had made for me 6 years ago and i just came accross the box! I take it theyre worthless by now?

Give them a go buddy! I have started using my shaft with wood blade after a 6 year layoff and it seems fine. A little softer than it was perhaps, but it was used previously.

I had great luck with a pair of XXV's. Very durable, and an all around great feeling stick. As mentioned earlier, compros are great sticks. I also have one and it hasnt seen much use since i got my one95. IW no longer has them, but you can contact an owner on the message board over there. Great blade, only comes in grio though. PM if your interested in a 95 modano lh.

08 Warrior Dolomites on sale for $99. 08 MacDaddys for $119. It's a pretty good selection. I'm not sure where or how I found this site, but it's pretty nice.

I can vouch for the inno megalyte from hockeyworld.com. Pretty sure the one I got is a Warrior MacDaddy. Very light and durable for about $70.

I'll third (or however many this is now) the One70 comments. It's a GREAT stick for the price. Unfortunately I can only find any kind of selection in patterns/flexes at one place: http://www.hockeyoutlet.com/HOprodinfo.php...urer=Nike-Bauer

$50 at HG but the selection is VERY thin: http://hockeygiant.com/nbhone70stksr.html

Also be warned that the commenters there are dead on. The paint/stick 'um on the One70 will start stripping the second you first step on the ice with it. It doesn't affect the feel at all, IMO, but it definitely isn't going to stay pretty very long if that bothers you.

Also, I posted this in the Good Deals Thread: Vapor XXIIs with a really good selection at HockeyOverstock for $60:

http://www.hockeyoverstock.com/nbhvprxxiistksr.html

Coupon Code: vapor0127

It's definitely a step below the XXV but the price is right.

Just to throw another stick in the mix, I bought a Vapor XVI Stick 'um for just under $100 last fall from my LHS. I think it's pretty good stick for 100 bucks and I'd imagine they are going for less now.

Hockeyworld has WinnWell g500's for 39.99.

Bought two and like 'em a lot. Also scored some Montreal Nitro 8500's there right before Xmas. Not sure if they have any left, but they're a steal at 54.99 (blade heavy, IMO... but they're tanks). That's been the first place I've looked for sale prices lately.

I also agree with the other posters who suggest keeping an eye on ebay, and who suggest a high end shaft/blade combo.

It seems really light to me. It's lighter than my S11

Mac daddy was 425ish when it was called the true1, not sure they reduced it by more than 10%. Especially considering that it was only 425 when cut down and using the fedorov curve.

Yea, I agree if you're looking to save money, buy a good shaft and and then a blade to go with it. If the blade breaks, replace it for a lot less then replacing a one piece

Even though I'm just starting out, this is what was suggested to me. Now I can try different blades. I bought an Easton Octane 2 piece stick. When I get better in the sport I'm sure I'll move to a higher ended stick but I'll stay with a 2 piece.
