BIG toe curve

Recommended Posts

so i got my pro curve today, I tried it on my composite stick, had a pretty sweet curve on it but when i took it out of the procurve it just went back to normal, Maybe i didnt get it hot enough or something, but im afraid to try it again cause im sure the blade will be wrecked if i try it again...harumph

EDIT: If it turns out the blade breaks, can you replace the blade on the one piece stick? I have a warrior hitman, and i can see that its not a true one piece I can see where the hosel of the blade meets the shaft, could I cut it there and put in a new blade?

Not exactly the best idea to curve composite blades. Messes with durability and often you just wind up with a broken blade.

Heres how it came out, im pretty happy with it, and if it turns out it breaks Ill just buy a wood replacement blade curve that one and stick it in the shaft, I win either way in my opinion :P And like I said it still feels pretty solid, it may not look that way but it still feels pretty good, but again we will see how it holds up on monday when I play again.

The top pic. I see a little more hand made kink in the bottom curve. They both look good though!

yeah this, second one looks kinked.

Add the fact that you said you scored a Kovalchuk 10k pro return a couple months back and it makes it all the more easy haha

Does anyone know where I can find a big toe curve (pro stock kovy/OV). I've tried ebay and searched google like crazy. Maybe someone has some they'd be willing to part with? right hand.

Heres an OVi pro stock right handed. he said the shaft is cracked but you could get some custom blades made

I just go back from playing a game and my blade seem to hold up just fine, didnt hear any cracking or anything, worked fine. For now anyways.

Take any slapshots?

Is it recommended that you not take slap shots with toe curved blade? if so, it might explain why im in hot water at the moment.

It's fine. He was just asking because he used the procurve on his composite blade. At least that's what I assume.

no, but I knocked someone elses out of the air with my blade, and it happened to hit right on the toe, and it still seemed ok after. But Ill try a few slappers on wednesday.

I was thinking a few hard slapshots would destroy a curved composite blade. Who knows.......

So on wednesday i played another game with my newly curved stick and took some slap shots as promised and again it held up just fine, Ive had no problems with it so far. Maybe after a few more games it will give out but im seeing no signs of it yet, the only problem is I have to get used to shooting with it now lol. I really dont need to try to raise the puck, its so easy but at the same time its so easy more than half my shots right now are going too high of the net lol i just need to devote some quality time during the warm up to getting the feel of how to shoot with it.

had to make the same adjustment. on the second ice-session it started to click. however on the first try i ended up saucing the puck into some poor persons jewls and it was a hard sauce lol
