Transformers Revenge of the Fallen

After watching the tv spot that aired during the Super Bowl, is anyone else excited to see it? It definitely looks to have potential but I wouldn't be too surprised if Bay drops the ball on this one.

My biggest concern is that the movies are deviating too far from the original tv series. However, I will still be seeing it once it hits theaters.

This is the kind of movie where you have to shut your brain off and enjoy the show...

I enjoyed the first one so I assume it will be more of the same. Throw in a few more explosions to set it apart and I'm sold.

Honestly, if they made it like the original tv series, it would be a joke. I mean, sure it would please the fans of the series in some way, but it wouldn't be believable at all.

So you find a movie in which giant alien robots come to earth to do battle believable? Just givin' ya a hard time... ;)

Megatron's back and Starscream should be in a bigger role. If they just make the humans a non-factor I'd be all the happier.

C'mon....Megan Fox HAS to be a factor...at the very least, make her run around a lot....a LOT!

The first one wasn't bad, but I thought it was way too long. I have a hard time keeping my attention span after about an hour and a half. Maybe I was the only one, but sometimes all the CGI made it really friggin hard to see what was happening. The robot battle on the freeway was just a big blur to me.

The previews for this one look decent though. There needs to be more Megatron, and Hot Rod needs to be in there at some point. Even though he was kind of a bitch in the animated movie, they could make him into a Lambo Murcielago or Countach. Bonus points if they include the animated movie's theme song, and even better, "The Touch."

I felt the same way when I saw Batman The Dark Knight in IMAX, when I went back and saw it in regular theaters I was fine though. I do plan on seeing this one in IMAX though.

Definitely agree that you need to shut your brain off to watch the transformers movie, but you could probably also say that for almost any Michael Bay movie. The GM sponsorship kinda ruined the first one for me because the vehicles seemed a little one dimensional to me. I remebered earlier though seeing a toy transformer that was an Audi R8 which would be pretty awesome.

No, that makes it really hammy to me. I also think that leads away from where they may go with this.

The Audi is supposedly a Decepticon and possibly a reformatted Barricade.

With what I've heard and read, there maybe around 40 Transformers in this one. Orsm.

No, Hot Rod doesn't need to show up anywhere in this franchise.

...if Hot Rod does show up....will they kill Optimus???

Interested to see what happens....Starscream is in command of the Decepticons. How much destruction and carnage will he bring? Was that big thing Unicron or Devastator?

Ya cant say 100% its not Devastator just because that thing wasn't green...I don't think color matters

I was under the impression that the big thing is part of Devastator.

With respect to Prime's potential 'death'...I have seen a couple press shots/poster stuff were Prime is busted up and beaten pretty bad...so you never know.

Yes, the big thing is part (his shoulder I think I read) of Devastator.

No real spoilers, but Starscream is going to be all marked up with some sort of markings that mean he's the leader. Devastator, the Fallen, it's going to be packed.

I read it somewhere (I thought it was here...) but now I can't find it...

Who is "The Fallen". I'm not 100% up on my Transformers history.

It's not history we would have known just from cartoons of yesteryear because it's sort of recent, but his back story, confirmed by Lorenzo DiBonaventura, is that he's one of the original 13 Transformers. DiBonaventura said to think of these 13 as "apostles" and the Fallen is the one that turned, leading to the schism that gave us Autobots and Decepticons.
