I wet to 2 Minnesota High School Conference semifinal games tonight. One of the states best players was wearing skates that looked to be 60's. Is that possible the skate looked really sweet.

Very possible. WIth the tournament next weekend I'm sure they're trying to get some MN players into them and broken in before next weekend. Guaranteed tv time....

Doubt it...Will they even be on display at the Bauer section of the Lets Play Hockey Show? It makes no sense to seed a skate that probably wont be much of a difference aesthetically than the current Vapor XXXXs..

I am encouraged by your use of the word "aesthetically". However it doesn't pertain to the X:60/XXXX conundrum that has characterized everything Vapor since October. In other words, there will be a difference. Beyond aesthetics, too. Or is it just hype? Wait and see, wait and see. :)

Welcome Thundros, not everyone on here is a member of the Thought Police or works for the Department of Homeland Security.

The difference between the XXXX and the XXX was quite a bit, I'd say its about the same difference between the XXXX and the X60, maybe more but how does one measure that? Every year we hear cries of whether a skate looks good or not, as a retailer I don't care too much for my personal preference and look at whether it will appeal to the masses. I believe it will, it will also fit more feet than the XXXX by the looks. There is a picture in that other thread anyway which looks like the skate Bauer showed me a month ago, its been there since before last weekend.

The skate I saw definitely looked better in my opinion than the 40's much darker (near black) had a bright red tendon guard and some sort of flashy piece (not sure if it was just shiny or actually a silver material) that followed the heel cup from mid foot sweeping upward and back toward the tendon guard.

I completely agree that any skates quality should only be measured by it's performance I only brought this up because I feel like I know gear (not as good as many of you), there has been a lot of buzz about the skate, and this skate looked unique. It could have been some pimped out 40 I do not know. If the were, they were the best looking skate I have ever seen and the kid should be hired as a design guy at Nike Bauer Design.

They're not supposed to sell. Last time that happened there were quite a few pissed off dealers...

I don't know why any local dealers would get mad, they were the ones getting credit for the sale for doing no work. The Bauer reps there were handling everything and then taking you to whatever local dealer was there at the show (of your choice) to handle the actual sale.

Happened with the XXXXs and again last year with the One95s.

HS kids in MN as well as Midget AAA/HS kids in MI were seeded in the NME skate last fall.

Heard this AM Bauer WILL have the X60 on display at the show and will in fact be raffling off several pairs thoughout both days of the show next Friday and Sat.

Not sure if it is going to be in MN, but the X:60 will debut Wednesday in the NHL. I was told that back in October, and I guess I had just forgotten about that little detail.
