Need an opinion...

Recommended Posts

I have a pair of Easton 1500c and I absolutely love the boot, but the blades and holders are something I am not fond of at all. This is my third pair of these skates and I am finally moving into new holders but I need opinions on what to put on them.

After reading the forum and knowing what I do about holders on the market, I was kind of looking at a tuuk or the pitch 3. What would you guys suggest?

A little info about me- 5'10'' 200lbs, skates are used for a ton of officiating and playing. I am very demanding of the skate and definitely am a more aggressive skater.

Lastly, does anyone know where I might find any brand new 1500c's in a 9.5D... I am really attached to these skates, but will need new ones soon.

Thanks in advance

Ya I was thinking about the Tuuk Custom+ but what I was told the holder tends to flex quite a bit (is this true?) and I need a holder thats pretty stiff. The Pitch 3 has holes that line up as well, thats why I asked about those, and from what i have read on this site people tend to think they are better then tuuks? Would you recommend any of the lightspeed line?

Tuuks seem to be the most popular out there, either the Custom + or the Lightspeed 2's. I see a lot of the pros using the Tuuks on all different brands of skates. The Pitch three holder is very good as well and I believe the steel is harder and doesn't need sharpening as much as most other brands. I don't think you can go wrong no matter which way you go with these.

Arent the se16's the same thing (or pretty close) just dressed up? And im not talking about the new white se16's...

Zach

I believe the SE16 replaced the 1500 as the newer model in the same line (synergy series)

They were the replacement model and the fit is basically identicle (i couldnt tell the diff). i simply have an attachment to that model :P durability is what put me off the skates so i think when cash is a bit more abundant i may have the white se16's with all the durability issues addressed

regardless of the improvements they're still not going to be half as durable as those lovely one95s you're sporting now..

Yes the C+s flex a bunch. I've never used the Pitch 3 but have only heard positive praise from everyone here. The Lightspeed holder is incredibly stiff, but that will require you drilling new holes in your boot.

I threw a pair of LS2's on my 1500's when I had them, and it was as close to a perfect skate (sans them falling apart) as I've ever used.
