A bauer 5000 skate!! What!! Is no one else shocked and mystified by this!?

The 5000 skate was IMHO a good looking skate but it was probably one of the most uncomfortable boots that I have ever worn... LOL I still have them in my basement... If they do come back out with them I hope they do some mods to improve the fit and comfort but leave the classic look...

I just now got out of my 5000's from 2002 and into some XXXX's. The difference in how the boot feels is night and day, and that's an understatement. Very solid skate though in terms of both looks and stability, i'll keep my 5000's as a backup pair because they're still in relatively good condition (aside from needing new runners and a Tuuk upgrade) and the boot still has alot of stiffness.

My rep showed the Holiday Product today. The OPS line looks and feels great. The X:60 LE skate has an awesome color scheme. Sorry, no pictures from me or in the Holiday catalog.

note: referring to skate only. I was less than impressed visually with the X60, IMO the black should've stay'ed the same material (not as if glossy plastic) and the leather parts look as if somewone from PHEW did a quck spray job of the back 1/2 of the skate. as much as it pains me to say it, the S17 looks more polished visually (tho i still don't care for it). sure glad i bought my XXV's last year. Not sure if a holiday style-revamp can redeem thenselves but definately glad to see Bauer as Bauer and not Bauer/[insert name here].

what does "awesome color scheme" mean? give details, at least the colors.

If someone were to say closely I would think along the lines of a month or two after the X60 skate hit the market not 6 months. The X60 stick will noit be out until October

It's possible they would launch more gear than usual to reastablish the brand name, Bauer is back and I think they need more, for the brand image, than a new pair of skates. Also, the x:60 is not even fully launched and now everyone is talking about the x:60 LE, which I think is from the to much hype generated around the x:60 that the general public is over saturated with it and want something new already.

Sorry, you're thinking too much. There is no "general public" in hockey. I have had to explain for months now that there is a new Vapor skate line coming out "in the spring" to the "general public." There are gear whores on MSH

who need to know before it's launched and then there are PHEW lemmings who follow each other to the cliff. Other than that, the "general public" doesn't have a clue.

Guess you're right Darkstar about the "general public". Anyhow, I'm really curious about the color scheme of the LE, wild guess here, but I think they're gonna go for the old school look. I can only hope there is going to be a black holder in there to :P
