The protection (getting slashed, hit by pucks, etc) on the One90 glove isn't very good.

It's about the same as an Eagle glove without plastic inserts. I went from one to the other and didn't really feel a difference.

I see plenty of Pros with Bauer gloves and not saying they are better then Eagle's but you are making A very bold claim in your comment toomey. I think Eagles are nicer then 0ne90s but they also make some pretty cheap gloves in some areas.

Yeah but most bauer retail stuff is heavily watered down from what the pros wear, not to mention 99.9% of the nhl gloves are far from the stuff you find on shelves.

Not really. 4-rolls are the stock pro glove. The Vapor XXXX pro is virtually the same as well, mostly the graphics change from the stock pro glove. The one90s had a different palm and gusset setup, which was closer to the Supreme 70.

The pro RBK/Reebok/CCMs on the other hand, are completely different gloves.

You also can't accurately compare a high-end Eagle to a high-end Bauer when the price difference is $60-$100 more.

Also the old Vapor line was phenomenal. The Vapor XV was the XX without the stretch palm, a high-end glove at mid-level price. The XX was a high-level glove, with the durable stretch palm... Then you have the Vapor XXX, which is still being used in the pros and (in my opinion) is the best glove Bauer has ever come out with.

I play defense on two teams in a beer league. Some guys get hacky with their sticks and not to mention the occasional puck hit. i guess that eliminates the one90.

i was preoccupied when i was at my lhs last time. i'll be heading back this weekend while my bro-in-law tries some girdles. while he's doing that i'll root around a little more and see what i can compare the Eagle Fusion's with.

I recently picked up some one90's from a buddy that were used less than a season (no palm wear or scuffs, just smell) for $10. Talk about a good buddy. I absolutely love how slim fitting they are and although they looked weird to me at first, I have warmed up to them. I dont know if they're underrated because of their retail price, but I think people are deterred by the look and skip their stellar feel. That's just my 2 cents.

I used One90s from when they were released until a couple weeks ago and never had a single problem with protection.

All NBH gloves have a problem with the cuff roll. If you get slashed on that, it sucks. The one90s are much more protective than the pro XXXX glove.

my gloves are finally seen the end of their days and the wife gave me permission to get new ones. I was at my LHS today browsing the gloves while getting some bday gifts for my bro-in-law. i tried on the One90's and i liked the way they felt but have that robot look. i then went around to the "sale" area and there was a pair of Eagle Fusion gloves. So i tried them on and they felt very nice as well. it's the only pair of gloves on the sale rack for a price of $90.

Imagine my suprise when i checked online and saw that they are half price. I've been out of hockey for a bunch of years and recently got back into it. I've never heard of Eagle before and I am torn on which way to go. what would you guys choose if you were in my situation? any advice/help/tips are greatly appreciated. (also they are navy in color, just what i'm looking for :P)

Thanks.

I'd choose the One90s. But that would be my individual choice

Never been a huge Eagle fan, and the one90's never seemed to fit properly. Have worn the 70's and was very happy with those. So I'd go with the 90's.

Slightly off topic: TBLfan, are the xxxx's that terrible with protection? I love my xx's but have heard the xxxx's offer no protection when you get hit.

Fusions should be a solid glove then, dont overlook the bauer 4roll either if you can find a pair, i know our lhs had a few pairs and sold them all up immediately, never been a big fan of the one90 glove it always looked horrible in my opinion however they felt pretty cool if you like a tight glove. I figure protection first though the eagles are almost as comfy with a great deal of protection.

With the 4-roll keep in mind that the fingers have been know to be pretty long, I had a pair of Nylon pro ones and I loved them but I couldn't stick with it because of the finger length.

so i went to my LHS today and tried on the Bauer Vapor XXXX and the TPS R8 Pro gloves. I really liked the TPS R8 gloves. lol...now that this thread title is nothing to what i should have posted. I even compared them to the Eagles and now i don't care for the those. I'll probably be going with the TPS gloves, thanks everyone. B)
