Bauer Flexlite 4.0 Fit

Recommended Posts

I tried on the 4.0's today at Pure Hockey and they felt great. They seemed a little narrower in the forefoot than my 9k's, and a good amount narrower in the heel. I liked the fit much better, they're not as loose in the heel as my 9k's are.

I'll probably buy them tomorrow after I try them on one more time. Just wearing them on my feet for 20 minutes or so they felt really good. I figure they'll be perfect after I bake and skate 'em a few times.

how about the arch? is it higher or lower than 9k's? im still observing which skates that gonna fit my really low arch.. the problem with Rbk is heel.. heel lock is much better on supreme though.. its really hard when you cant find the stock but really looking for the skates..

I'll probably throw Super Feet in them anyways, but from what I remember it seemed really low. I'll double check for ya tomorrow though. But in the store, the heel lock on these skates seemed 10x better than my Reeboks.

aaah! thx a lot ^^ and yeah, heel lock on flexlite shoud be much more better than Rbk. i've tried 9k, n pump is not working much. a lot of heel slip and its not quite comfy for me..

I never baked my first pair of flexlite 12s and they ended up great, I did bake my Pros as i felt they were more stiff as compared to the 12's. Personal preference, if you dont have pain and they feel great just leave them be.

Is it worth getting the Flexlite pro if I'm only skating 2 times a week? Are they that much better?

This flexlite line is supposed to be "out of the box comfortable" according to their specs. I hope so, I hate ccm, rbk and graf. Bauer is the only way to go.

Anyone know if the flexlite pro is as stiff as a bauer vapor xxxx?

I might just stick with the 4.0 for just over 300 bones and call it good. Have em on order from IW, they show up on tuesday.

No, there is not a single shop in Missouri with the flexlite line. I've tried on 9.5ee, 10ee vapor x40, x50 and 9.5ee, one 75 and 10ee one 75. The supreme line is just to narrow in the heel for me. I feel alot of pressure right under my ankle bone/rear portion of the skate even with the ee.

New Vapor's might be able to work, the problem is that the 9.5 is just a tad bit too small and 10's allow my heel to slip just a little little bit when I walk around the store. The new vapor line does feel deeper boot and my ankle does sit in the ankle padding.

Im in a vapor xxxx right now that is way to small for my foot causing ankle pain....my ankle bone is almost sitting in the eyelits.

I ordered the flexlites in a 9.5ee and will just have to see when they arrive if they fit or not.

If the flexlites do not work, I'll probably just get a x30 or x40 vapor in a 9.5ee and deal with it.

All the room around the ankle didn't feel very broken in but it was better then some skates, when i tried on the 9ks well the flexlites didn't feel as good but they didn't feel bad.

I just ordered a pair of 10.5EE Flexlite 4.0's, they should be here withing the next two weeks. Unfortunately, no LHS carried the line as well, after speaking to the shop owner, and the Bauer rep, they said to try any of the new Bauer lines as far as fitment goes. I used 10.5EE X-30's I believe, as my tester skate. Fitment was great on the right foot, however, the left had a high pressure point on the back of my arch, sure enough "superfeet" were mentioned, and considering I was planning on buying them anyways we tried them out. The insole raised my heel and arch just enough that the pressure was gone.

So, with that being said, and all the comments that the FLexlites have a more open toe box, wider forefoot and are generally a wider/flatter fit, I made the decision to just order them. I'll write up a review once I get them and can try them on for myself.

Someone on here already said it, but no matter what quality of skate you have, you should always plan to have orthotics. I've never used superfeet, but haven't heard one bad thing about them.

Most skate shops (sportchek) included have Superfeet, give them a try with the skates, you might just find they will raise your foot just enough.

Also, where are these suposed to fit in the baer skate pyramide???? Obviously price wise i get it..but are they suposed to be rec level skate??? just not sure i see where they fit. Thanks, i like the way they look, just trying to get a handle on fit.

So they finally arrived. Here is my take. I wear a EE in a vapor and the Flexlite D that I ordered was about equivalent to an EE in a Vapor or supreme. Seemed like the arch was a bit high. My opinion is that the supreme line has more overall volume at the ankles.

I do not like the level of stiffness in the boot. The 4.0 feels like mush to me. I guess I'm used to my vapor xxxx's being rocks. To bad they are too small as they're going on ebay in a few weeks here.

If you like a stiff boot, do not get the 4.0's. I've never seen or felt the 4.0 pro.

I had a chance of trying them on today, and for a fact they indeed felt like mush. They just didn't have enough stiffness imo they are real nice looking boots and I wear EE vapors and tried both D and EE and they are massively wide. I was swimming in the EE especially with my pair of messed up wide feet.

i guess that's why its called flexlite..made to flex.. however, if you wear EE in vapor, is it same in D flexlite? how's the arch? is it lower than vapor? i found that vapor line hv higher arch than my ONE75.. (i hate my flat feet)....

I also thought that was the whole point of the flexlite, to flex. I personally don't care for the stiffness of most of today's space sk8tes. I would like to try a new skate with more forward flex.

I ordered a pair of 4.0's last week, it feels like it's taking a lifetime for them to get to the shop.

I'm hoping they fit my fat ass feet. My problem area is around the toecap. My little toes get smashed to hell and my big toes start to go numb...it's the suck.

i have the same problem re: toe caps. my two smallest toes get smashed up and the pinky toe gets scraped and calloused. i've had this problem in virtually every skate i've ever owned.

i'm currently in torspo 221's 11.5EE with it punched right at the seam by the toebox, and it's still barely bearable.

when you do, in fact, receive the skates, please post your opinions on how they fit in the toes.

im still curious about torspo or Kor shift...somehow some people said that those skates were much better than any brand of skates...but really, its hard to find... however, if someone hv easton and flexlite, could you please explain differences between these skates? width, size, arch...im looking between these two..tq

i haven't had kors, but i wouldn't say that the torspos are "much better than any brand." not by a long shot.

i had read a lot about them, and i found them at a price that was worth taking the risk on.

they fit me very well, save for the toebox issue.

the pika (clear plastic) holders on them are super-heavy.

the boots themselves are pretty lightweight, and have a ton of kevlar/composite wrap in them.

they are very sturdy, and i barely feel it when they get hit.

they're the stiffest skates i've ever owned. i skated mostly in ccm tacks prior to these.

it was a huge difference in flex/foot control/energy transfer being reflected on the ice. i do actually feel like a more efficient skater in them.

the only real downside, apart from the weight, was thati did have quite a few blister/rubbing above the ankle problems with them at first, but that subsided after awhile.

i know the flexlite is basically the exact opposite of these, concept wise... i'm really just curious about the fit. if the toebox is wide enough, i might look into getting a pair of 4.0 pros.

For what it's worth, my pinky toe used to get crushed in Vapor XXV's in a size 7.5D, and I fit perfectly into an 8D Flexlite. Plenty of room up front.

I don't know how well my expierence will translate for you. I wear Jr. sizes so I went with an EE in the Jr. boot hoping things will work out. I will let you know how they stack up against my current Mission's, which are one step above brutal.

I will never buy another pair of skates online...painful lesson learned.

Do they make the Flexlite 4.0 Pro in Jr. sizes? I currently wear Supreme 8090 size 5.5D.

I don't think there is a Pro in Jr. sizes. I could be wrong, but I haven't seen any.
