1stLiner91 0 Report post Posted May 22, 2009 I hate it so much now, I won't even let anyone touch my SE16s at practice because someone wanted to "see" my Kronik when they first came out and flexed it so much that it snapped... 42 days after I bought itSo much for "I won't even let anyone touch my SE16s." I went to practice today and put my equipment in the dressing room, put my undergarments on then forgot my gatorade. mack 44 Report post Posted May 22, 2009 Guys I played with at least don't put their weight into the stick and lean into it, but it still feels like watching my kid dart towards the street when someone wants to test what a 120/180 feels like. I normally don't care about that sort of stuff, but it's not like the sticks I use are readily available anywhere. I'm not Bruce Wayne. I do not let people tough my gear...period...unless I trust them enough to know they respect it as much as I do...and that list is VERY short. Hell, those that I trust I will allow to borrow my gloves and sticks, because I know if anything goes wrong they will replace it...as I would. I would also NEVER leave my bag unattended. This is not involving my stick though. I do agree that people who put all their weight to see how good your stick will flex is annoying. My friend did this to my nike bauer ONE95 and I felt my baby's pain... he was stressing the flex point.. Idiot. Anyway- so some guy sees my NIKE/BAUER 4-roll pro glove ( their famous glove... ). The colors catch his attention. I do live in San Jose therefore we're all die hard sharks fans and get crazy when we see anyone rockin sharks colors... Im sitting on the bench during Gretzky hour ( 1 hour where u can just hop on the ice and do whatever you want with no coaches around ) - Im cooling off...gloves are next to me... and the next thing you know some guy asks about my gloves... I take a look at his gloves. They are the oldest things I've ever seen with no palm except on the fingers...talk about using worn out gloves right? they smelled too!He takes my gloves w/o asking, tries them on & comments on their feel. In my head I'm like... You could have just asked to see them...Don't know where this fool's hands have been!Next thing you know.. I go back on the ice after I get my gloves back & slip em on. Two days later I start noticing spots on my left hand. I went to the doctor... Turned out to be a non life threatening fungus lol. This is after that idiot put his hands in my gloves!!! I explained to him that the blade was cracked in advance and it was no big deal but the guy refused and bought me the same stick (orange synergy it was awhile ago). But the stick snapping, that is the ultimate low. To snap someones $250, you must be more then hated.
