are they ever acceptable? i found a pair of eagles with the exact specs i want, and a price tag thats not too bad, but they are camo. any opinions?

haha, all sentiments that i share, but man, theyre x72's with full plastic, long cuff and eveything. my team has red jerseys, so im thinking its a no-go haha

i personally make fun of guys with questionable equipment all the time... it clearly bothers most to be called out on bad color choices.

Buy them and then cover them in black hockey tape. Problem solved. Otherwise take a look at Hockey Monkey's Eagle section. They've got tons of different types of Eagles. They might not be X72's but you might find some close to what you want.

well - I recently bought a pair of winter camo TPS gloves for my 6 years old - not only he loves them he's also quite popular as others like them too - kids seem to dig the military theme quite a bit :)
