Stealth weight

Recommended Posts

I got 436 with the plug and 405 without. **Note that it's a RHed Sakic

I know there are some weight freaks out there (me included, but I care more about balance). I was surprised and figure that a Modano should be right around 395.

My friend got his right handed Iginla Stealth yesterday and when I felt it, it felt heaver than my Response Plus and the flex felt more like a 90. I really like the graphite end plug, it reminded me of my X-1 blade. The Stealth felt really blade heavy but the overall shaft shape was nice. Lego what did you use to estimate the wight of your stick? Do you believe that it is accurate?

I agree. My Modano Stealth is a lot more blade heavier than expected. The retail xn10 is definitely still lighter when holding bothe sticks by the very butt-end. But holding both of them in the middle they are very close in weight. Just from holding them I like the balance of my xn10 better, but the real test is on the ice. And I finally get to use my Stealth for the first time tonight. I'm interested to see if it really does feel like "swinging a wiffle ball bat." Which if the puck flies and flies accurately, that would be an awesome feeling.

If I had a digital scale that weighed in grams I'd weigh my stick. But I don't havce one.

Another weird thing I noticed about my Stealth: the shaft is not perfectly straight all way down. On the back side of the shaft it kind of angles "in" toward the taper. Really f'ing weird. Almost looks like a trilage shaft from certain angles looking from the butt-end down to the blade on the back of the shaft. Anyone else notice this? And I was sober at the time...

I used a digital food scale. You know the kind to weigh your dru..... I mean food with.

Anyway, in one hand, the stealth does seem a little heavier than the XN10, but I think it could be because of the differences in shaft shapes. It definitely is lighter though. Maybe it's because the shaft is so light, it seems blade heavy. When I break it, I'll weigh the blade.

The end plus is nice, but I'd prefer if it was concave. It doesn't matter though, since I don't need it.

well i don't see how or why a model would weigh different because of the curve!!...that weird

but we all know that compagny lie when they put a weigh to their stick lolz!

in my opinions it not 10-20 grams less or more that will make a big different !

WTF! I just cutt my butt-end and it is hollow. Am I the only idiot who thought this was a solid graphite butt-end? Why the hell didn't Easton just extend the length of the shaft 3 inches and put a cap in it. Now I have a wind tunnel hole at the end of my stick. Mother f'er...

Different models weigh differently because the blade lengths aren't the same

Just curious as to whether it'd be possible to make a stackable butt-end? The hollow graphite plugs made me wonder. As well do any butt ends come in 8+"? Is Easton going to product a large graphite butt end.

Ryan answered this already in a different thread. Some guy at easton came up with the great idea (not being sarcastic here) of using the extra graphite/aramid material that they had left to make those composite endplugs. It adds a cool feature to their flagship stick at a very low cost.

Yeah Modo, I wasn't sure if the end cap would be solid or hollow so I was somewhat "suprised" as you when I cut my Stealth end cap a couple days ago. This is my only stick with a wind tunnel. But I guess I could always toss an Inno plastic cap thingy in there if I want. I may possibly have an extra one sitting around in my junk drawer if you want one. Either way, it's a nicely balanced stick and it's just a matter of time to test the durability. Playing inline hockey, you can really feel that lightweight puck with this stick.

Damn, and I usually write my jersey number on my end caps. Now what do I do?!?

Think about some others aside from yourself. If a kid is still growing or something, and wants to cut down a steath, after taking that plug out, then he can use that for a while...

THEN when the kid grows, WOW! That's where that light plug comes in handy!

Lord knows all the 5-4 14 year olds need a 100 flex stealth. It's going to make their shot so much better.

Whats very, very sad is that a local youth hockey program outfitted most of their kids with Easton Synergy Grips just because their team colors are yellow/black.

On a side note, I do like the overall, simplified graphics on the Stealth. I guess it kind of stands out without really standing out.

Please note, I said 5-4 14 year old so it obviously wasn't aimed at you. That said, I find it interesting that so many 13-14 year olds, regardless of height, think they have the same strenth as an NHL player and should use the same flex.

In any case, it's all preference, use whatever you like. It doesn't matter to me.

You're quite small for a 14-year old :). I got about 10inches on you, and i do use 100+ flex sticks, without a problem. Started using 100flex sticks a while ago. I was even getting quite a bit of flex on a 110 z-bubble.

But yes, i do see alot of real small kids running around with flexes that a way too high for them.
