Bauer Custom made sticks

Recommended Posts

I was online today at GreatSkate's site and I saw they offer custom Bauer sticks. You can personalize the colors, grip type, etc. A lot more patterns to choose from too compared to standard retail. I didn't look close but I think it is for the One95 & Vapor XXXX. Anyone else seen this/tried it?

Yeah. Its really kinda useless unless you get big excitement by using a stick with your name on it or like one of there curves that are hard to find/dont offer on retail. I know id like to pick up a Backstrom.

Pretty much useless, however i wouldn't mind a Backstrom curve i wouldn't go out of my way to wait for it or pay extra.

Wasn't useless to me, try finding a P10 curve one95 in silver/black at retail. Oh what, they only offer one color choice and about 5 curves at retail? Then I guess it's pretty useful.

I just dont see any big deal with the color choice and all that, paying to have your name on it. The extra curve choice is cool but half the kids around here get one done up with a retail curve and its stupid. I didnt realize people liked the other curves they offered with the id program so much.

Leafs I was about to say the same thing.

I would just be getting a stick with a different color with a retail curve and I don't feel compelled to put my name on it - so for me it's really not worth it.

I did a focus group with NBH and one of the big things they had us involved with was the original NikeBaueriD program. In that program they had initially offered different flexes as well as those off-retail curves. If they offered any flexes higher than 102 I would spring for them in a heartbeat

Yeah that would be pretty cool, im a smaller guy but i used a 110 flex for awhile and im sure theres a lot of bigger guys over 200 that could use a 110 or even a 120 in fewer cases.

im 6'2" and 240 (lean mind you) and I like to use whatever the stiffest thing I can get my hands on is... so even the availability of a 110 (min) from BH would be so helpful from the iD program, or retail either way.

Weight is irrelevant when talking about flex. I'm around 240 and prefer sub-100 flexes.

You don't realize because you hardly seem to think things through beyond "how does this affect me, right now."

Maybe you're young and don't realize those "other curves" used to be retail curves at some point and some people fit them or you've never looked at those curves and thought to experiment with them, look how many pages the toe curve thread has, now realize there isnt a great retail curve out there to for the needs of those people. Now factor in the fact that the existence of PHEW and such is built almost entirely on matching color schemes....

I know weight is irrelevant, people are just like 'your using a 110 flex? but your like 185'. I have always been a heavy shooter and i find the best way for me to get power out of my slapshots is a 110 but i use a lower flex because my wrist shots suffered.

Change your form with your slapshot and you will get the power back.

I just realized 70flex is for me (135lbs).....last 5 years I been using 85-100flex :( I do feel like less of a man

Brett Hull was using 62 flex at the end of his career and he was well over 200lbs, does that help?

my god a 62 flex??? O.O

Who else uses a 70-77 flex now-a-days besides ovechkin? I haven't seen anyone else use a wet-noodle-like flex.
