NHL Network

It's nice having so many preseason games on TV this year. I usually don't even get local preseason games but, this year, there is one every night of the week.

I've seen Toronto on a few times, sadly I work at night so I don't get to catch many games on TV. I have yet to see a Stars game though.

NHL Network's coverage is getting better and better. I also like that they play the last postseason during the offseason, and vintage games now too. It's pretty cool to watch games from the 60's, 70's, and 80's. Getting it in HD is a huge plus too.

Great channel. I'm kinda hoping the Flyers game is on it tomorrow because now that I have FiOS, I don't get The Comcast Network (which the game is on). That, or hoping for live feeds on either website...but it's great to be able to watch hockey any given night now.

Crap, I didn't realize they had preseason games on. I got sick of watching "Top 10 power Forwards of 1993" and hadn't really checked it out.

It's nice when the game listed in DirecTV's guide is actually the game that is broadcast. THREE times I recorded Bruins versus somebody, THREE times no Bruins game!

I love having the NHL network....but seeing the same commercials a billion times can wear on you.

"Hockey is for Everyone"

Yes, yes, I know Hockey is for everyone.

My wife, yes.....my wife, looked at me the other day and said "Guy...was made for this game" from that snippet on LaFleur. (she knows he was my favorite player growing up.) God bless her...but that just shows how often they play those things....and how much that channel is on in my home ;)

I do miss that crazy coach that would talk himself into circles. He was funny. Hawk-Eat Hawk-Eat.

I am very sick of the fake news report with the Obama speech. I see it 10 times a day.\

But overall I am loving NHL network this year. I was getting kind of bored of them showing the same Playoff games 3 times a day though

The first time I saw that commercial, it kind of fooled me. Then they said debt and I changed the channel. I hate that commercial; and it doesn't help that its one of the longer commercials they play.

At least they have the blonde MILF doing most of the talking.

Love the channel.

I'm glad I'm not the only one getting tired of the "Hockey is for Everyone" commercial. haha

It's etched into my brain now.

What's up

Future Stars

I am starting to see that commercial with the pairs of people in matching jerseys just as much as the other one. yeah yeah yeah, the chicago guy wants his pizza and the toronto guy better be careful. :)

For some reason, I can't get NHL HD from my provider. THAT sucks.

I bought my new TV and my HDMI crap just for NHL HD.

That commercial should go away when the season gets rolling. Hopefully.

Dont be so sure.. The one last year with Crosby and his big fan in Cali was played continuously about 3 or 4 months into the season and starting again in March. Drove me absolutely insane.

Don't know if anyone is watching, but Miller and Pominville are both wearing cameras on their helmets during this preseason game.

I got a little gripe with the NHL Network. I recorded the Zurich vs. Chicago game earlier. So as I'm watching it, they put the final score on the bottom ticker because it's tape delayed. How dumb is that? People just tuning in already know who won. Can't you tell us all the other scores minus the one we're watching....??

What I don't understand is how "NHL on the Fly" is still not in HD. It's the 2009-10 season. What sports show isn't in HD. Atleast this season they redid the studio, but I still think it's visually underwhelming compared to SC or really any other sports desk show. I'm really impressed with the look and the HD view of the show on MLB Network.

MLB has MTB: money-to-burn. The NHL is paying for the Coyotes out-of-pocket. We're hockey fans. We take whatever we get although I agree with you it would be nice to keep up with the times!

Bumping an old thread because their scheduling has been really awful lately.

Yesterday, they were playing the Pens/Lightning games from the '11 playoffs. I was enjoying it, but they have the stupidest programming ever. Here's how they worked it: 8pm-10pm Game 3 10pm-12am Game 4 12am-2am Game 4. Then I wake up this morning and they're back to game 3.

Now they have one of the few shows where they actually produce original content "Frozen in Time" on. Its a pretty fascinating show about events in the leagues history. They're showing the events around the Patrick Roy trade. Great. I'm enjoying it. What's on next? "A Day that Changed the Game." And drumroll please...The Patrick Roy trade! Why would they schedule redundant programming back to back?

They did this alot with the rest of the playoffs too, after the cup. They showed the first round series' with Boston and Montreal, Philly and Buffalo, and Washington and New York constantly. Probably showed each complete series three times apiece. Not one of the Western Conference series' and not showing the Pens Bolts until a full month later.

Someone must be asleep at the wheel on this thing, because these are rookie mistakes and stupid decisions that will ruin this channel.

At least they have finally, in the past week, gotten back to playing old hockey games. They've been playing the Cup clinching games of every series in the '80s the past two weeks.

Let's be honest, they know that between end of the draft and the first day of camp there aren't going to be a whole lot of people flicking by.

If they'd get their heads out of their asses there might be more. I've been watching Hard Knocks on NFL network all summer, mostly because NHL can't, or won't, compete.
