Reebok Hockey

I'm just surprised that they haven't come out with a OPS that is made stricly for durability at the expense of weight/performance.

Not sure whom you refer to, but there is a company that makes (true!) OPS that put performance and durability above weight... (drum roll.........).... BUSCH

Their true OPS weigh between 500 and 600+ grams, yet they are known to be tanks and perform well.

www.busch-hockey.com

do the INNO true 1 was also a real one piece and i think they do perform really well!!

Durability cobrAA, durability.......

Most likely the next pair of Leg pads I'll get will be Reebok 590's.

kidding..

For the KOHO name I think they're going to concentrate of goaltending. Maybe keep the name on the pads and put a Reebok symbol somewhere. I hope. :( I'll miss KOHO if it goes.

I thought Koho was only going to be goalie and the RBK stuff was going to be a mix of the different models. I guess we'll find out for sure soon enough.

I wonder what will happen with the helmets, CCM has alot of helmets, Jofa has their 690 and now Reebok has a helmet of their own, wonder if that'll replace any of the other models? I don't think the 690 is very common in NA, but in Europe it's pretty common, so I don't wanna see it go. Koho don't have any helmets though (although they did have a model in the 80s that resembled the Bauer 8000).

And same with gloves, all these companies (including Koho) make their own gloves.

I remember reading when Reebok first bought THC that they already did the jerseys for a bunch of other major league sports (NFL and NBA I think. Not sure about MLB), and part of the attraction of THC was that it did all of the NHL jerseys, so I would expect Reebok logos replacing CCM and Koho ones pretty shortly. Also, didn't the new Reebok gloves look very similar to the current Koho gloves? And if the new OPS is the same as the Koho Revolution, it sure points to Koho being dropped from at least player equipment.

The RBK skates are Vectors, kinda funny considering they are based on the old Koho last as I understand it.

Id have to second chadd on his reply. The busch stick was a tank, but at the time that it came out it was light. Also PEOPLE STILL HAVE THEIR BUSCH STICKS TODAY!!!!! Durable?? I think so. The vector v110 was a light durable stick. Most people took those for a year or more in my experiences. Performance leaves something to be sought after but they are durable.

As for reebok..........

I saw the new reebok stuff the other day. The stick strongly resembles the koho OPS 4490. Its just a revamped version of that. Blade appears to be more durable but thats all I can tell for now considering Ive never used either stick.

Jofa is staying, apparently the Koho name will be used only on low end equipment that you will see sold in big box tores (ie sportmart, dicks, galyans, etc etc). The new bucket is similar to the 8000. It has a dial that improves the fit side to side in the back of the helmet. Nice thing is that unlike the 8000 helmet when you make a tight turn you wont fall over from the weight of your head. The reebok gloves are the old jofa 9700 from this year with a reebok logo. The skates (8k) are well, boring. They have no niche and they use old ccm parts (composite outsole looks similar to the original 952 comp outsole). They arent extremely light, they have a lace like (vector), pro tack H2o control liner, and the new pro tack EPP outers. There is absolutely nothing that seperates this skate from others.

Heres a teaser...... Vector gloves coming soon. Theyre nice but pricy

All right, here's the real deal: Reebok signed a 10 year season apparel agreement with the NHL. Even if the the whole season is scrapped, the deal states they get 10 seasons. Reebok is doing away with the Koho and Jofa name completely. It will replace it with two names: RBK and Reebok. Reebok will be lower-end equipment and RBK will be high-end equipment. CCM will only have two lines: Tacks and Vector. And CCM will be enveiling the Vector130 very shortly. The stick has a 24" taper, and a foam-filled blade. In impact tests next to the si-core and z-carbon blade, the new Vector130 blade withstood more pucks hurled 90mph at it.

And here's an exclusive: Louisville is looking to sell of the TPS hockey line. The company currently showing the most interest is Graf.

Koho-Externo-Vector

The Externos were based heavily on the Koho skates. Still, I was very happy with my e-50's and am even happier with my 60's.
