Stupid ugly jersey IMO. The only thing they coulda done any worse was make it a side profile view of a panther ala Phoenix. That being said, I'd still wearing PHX over this one. Worst 3rd out right now IMO.

I disagree. The Dallas 3rd is the worst. Why? Because it's the exact same jersey as their white set. Friggin' moronic.

True, it lacks any originality, but at least it's not as ugly as the FLA and PHX.

The Panthers jerseys are pretty nice. It's just that the logos are sub-par and they don't really match the team colors. It would make a great jersey to copy for beer leagues or school teams.

ye i don't like the fact its basically got none of the florida panthers colours, at least they have a logo and it doesn't say PANS or something in the front

I love the color scheme. I agree with most about the logos. The extra striping on the pants is ugly. They do look like swim trunks.

A lot of the newer jersey designs are a good example of "just because you can do something doesn't mean you should."

I think I'd like it better with just the red and blue. Don't like the logo, seems kinda pointless to just copy part of the original and write the team name around it.

I actually like the coyotes thirds better than the regs, they're just so boring. I'd like them even more if the crest looked less the the greyhound bus logo.

Another example of a team using a color that doesn't exist as part of their color scheme and a bad logo. At least Florida didn't go with black.

^^I'd have to disagree with you there. I can think of a lot of teams that have nicer looking alternates than the Sharks, namely Calgary and Chicago. Both perfect examples of why there is no need to change your team's logo to make a good lookin 3rd. Leafs are a close 2nd :)

If this were last year, I'd definately say the Flyers have the nicest 3rds in the league.

On the topic of Florida's alternates, I'd say they could have done much much worse. Compared to a lot of teams' alternates that have been done up recently (Bolts, Sens, Coyotes, Avs - ew BTW), i think they've done a bang up job.

I like Nashville's new thirds other then the checker pattern on them. I hate the Panthers jersey though it is just not appealing.

I feel like it wasn't even necessary for Phoenix to have a third jersey. A team with a) 2 colours in their uni and b ) Relatively little to no team history has no route to go with, thus chooses the cheesy black route (A la Carolina, San Jose). Boston Could have done so much better (look at their winter classics) and I'd say Chicago is the only Black alternate jersey I would actually pay money for.

A Phoenix third with a design with some Winnipeg influences would be kinda cool, or something with the the half moon logo instead of the greyhound logo. I love the current home and road jerseys though, very classic.

Precisely. I the new regular Phoenix jerseys look great. Like, maybe if someone in your organization pitches you an amazing jersey design, then go for it but it seems pretty obvious with them and some other teams that they only made a 3rd jersey for the sake of making a 3rd jersey.

Would they be allowed to do that? Is there any sort of Hartford-Carolina restriction on the logo? Seeing the colours they went with, I think Colorado could have made an awesome Nordique-esque throwback

Colorado had great thirds with the red jerseys and the name across the body. Even doing that same jersey in blue would have been better than what they came up with. I believe there are restrictions on the whalers logo/use.

I also beleieve the Whalers logo is no good because the owner of the logo won't sell the rights or whatnot. Thats why you never see it in video games like some old school jerseys either. Correct me if I'm wrong though cause I'm not 100%

Hartford negotiated a deal where if the team left town, the logos and such would remain property of Hartford. They recently expired though, you should be seeing them soon enough.

And the panthers jerseys look great, and are probably leading to a rebrand of the team in general, which is probably a good thing. the color scheme has been lousy, and the logo was pretty non remarkable. The double blue works, and it's unique in the league as a primary identity (don't say the thrashers, they don't have a unified color scheme for uniforms, other then all the colors being somewhere in the logo).
