My bauer p14 or p89

Recommended Posts

There are rumors the owner is selling since his kid wont be playing with the bucs anymore. So if we lose them we'd have lost both teams back to back seasons. Although there are plenty of rumors that the wild's farm team is going to move down here either this year or next year. :) Definitely something that needs to happen. I want to see koivu and burns in rehab games :P

Anyways back on topic... the p14 is also available on the 52 flex too... although i don't think that concerns any of us.

FYI guys for the bauer booking orders....

the p14 curve is ONLY available if you book it, and if it is on the x60 LE stick. It is available in clear only, and in 77, 87 and 102 flex. what the hell the LE stick is i have no idea, that's just what it says.

the p02 curve is available on the le x60s, 77, 87 and 102. also it is available on 87 and 102 one95s clear.

found out what LE x60 is... pic

pretty bitchin' if you ask me... must ... book... these...

thats a deal breaker for me but it does look pretty good, maybe i am gonna have to shell $200+ for a p14 one95 :(

or maybe i'll spend to cash on customs from combat and add a small heel curve onto the p14

I don't think its ONLY out in the LE X60's because I just bought a One95 p14 today, but the shop also had a p14 in a regular X60 as well. It did have a weird stamping on the blade that I've never seen on any other stick though, the pattern number and stick type were kinda embossed onto the heel of the blade, so maybe it was a retail tester or something. I should go take some pics tomorrow.

The P14's have been out for awhile in Minnesota LHS due to Bugsy being a local I think his son is one of the higher rated players in the state as well. I bought my OPS P14's last spring and still have them. I picked up a couple wood blades around November.

Here is a profile of a P14 vs P92

They do have different lies, but the curve is very similar

True, but this isn't a "BUGSY" stick, just a P14. I have seen many of the BUGSY sticks around here though.

That is all it says on the stick P14 It does not say "Bugsy"

Huh? I have seen both up here at different shops. Lettermans in Plymouth has the weird X60 P14 sticks, and I've seen the Bugsy sticks at Dave's. Both have the same curve/lie.

I havent been up to Dave's in forever, but all the sticks at Sportsworld USA, Westwood or General Sports all say "P14" but no "Bugsy" on them..Then again, the "Bugsy" could be part of the new batch

Yeah, I dunno about when/where/how a few stores have them, but Dave's and the Plymouth Lettermans both have had the Bugsy and P14 pattern in One95, XXXX and X:60 for at least a year now.

I've looked at my LHS and can't seem to find a P14 anywhere.

Can anyone help or point me in the direction of somewhere online besides MyBauer? I'm in Vancouver, BC.

Which sticks are being released with P14? Is it just the One95 and X:60 Only?

Does it say "Bugsy" in the space under the "P14" on the stick?

Here is mine:

Not to hate or anything, but I'm not a retarded 13yr old or anything ;)

Yes, some of them have BUGSY in the nameplate area instead of the normal "P14". Some of the others are like yours. I've seen both in the X60 and One95.

It is definitely a different lie than my P92

I wouldnt mind getting a "bugsy" one even though I'm not a big fan of OPS's since I only own 2 of them. The rest are all 2 piecers

I think both the p14 and Bugsy are a lie 6. I have to grab a new helmet today, I'll check and see if they have anymore in stock.

Is the lie on the P14 closer to a 5 or a 6? I never know how much to trust Bauer's lie numbers.

I've got both and the curves are pretty close.

My P14 has a lower lie and the P92 has more of a rocker (did I say that right).

If you hold a p14 and p92 up against each other, the p14 lie is clearly lower, maybe your sticks are listed as 5.5 (p92) and 6 (p14), but I can gurantee that the p14 lie is around a easton 5 lie.

That depends on where you figure the sweet spot of the rocker is. You can play it low but it is really low or you can play it where the cup is and that makes it much higher. On average I think the p14 plays best for me at the higher lie of the rocker. I wish I could find a p92 with similar rocker to the p14. The p14 is too short a blade for me.

I tried the p14 and the p92. I couldn't shoot with the p92 but I could shoot very well with the p14. To me the p14 feels like a p88 with an toe curve. Thats just me though. However it is nice that the p14 is smaller than the p92.
