So yeah... I'm in that kind of mood. So what's some stuff I should have in my collection?

Right now I've got some Darude and DJ Tiesto... any others?

Halcyon + on + on by Orbital. If any of you guys have seen CKY2K, it's the tune playing when they're in iceland.

Best movies ever.....and the song is pretty cool, but that was a boring part in the movie lol.

Oakenfold's probably too obvious.

Yeah I have a bunch of Oakenfold. I have alot of Chemical Brothers too. I'll have to check this stuff out.

EDIT: Oh btw, if the "not to rounded musically" was directed to me... I'm appalled.

4 Strings, Popula Demand, DEFINITELY stick with the Darude, X-Treme, sho-T, STM 200, B3-Project, dj TAKA, NW260, RevenG, De-Sire, Shawn the Horny Master (dont ask he chooses what people call him), NAOKI, Scotty D., D.J. Amuro, Cli-Max, and ZZ. Some songs you really gotta get are V (For Extreme), A by D.J. Amuro, 9 P.M. Till I come, and Zombie Nation. Hope this helps.

(Yes, I live for Dance and Trance.)

I was wondering today as I was listening to some Oakenfold, how do they make Techno/Trance.? Is it all computer based? I would really like to try my hand at putting some basic stuff together, but I have no idea how to get started. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

I'm not sure if he's into this type of music, but PM Markku. A friend of mine went across to Finland a dew years ago for hockey and he'd always tell me about great Techno songs that were out there. They eventually made their way back here, but it took a while. I was going through some old CDs. Becca was alright, Brooklyn Bounce and there are a few more. I find alot of Dance music is one hit wonders so it's a little difficult to suggest.

You may want to start with some loop-based music software, I think they are fairly easy to learn. MIDI has been around a long time and is still the standard format for keyboard musicians. MIDI is pretty flexible and powerful though it's a little more advanced than some of the more specialized looping apps.

Go to www.epitonic.com and download for free to your heart's content. They give a good description of what the music styles sound like, what the different genres are compared/contrasted to, etc.

They have tons of trance, dub, downtempo, house, lo-fi, ambient, techno, breakbeat etc to choose from. Free and legal.

Kirsch, some bands can play it live, but it's usually one or two guys/gals with a MIDI set-up, sequenced loops and sounds added at the touch of a keyboard or click of a mouse. It will go on infinitely in it's loop, until altered by the DJ. There is some specific DJ software that let's you do a bunch of manipulation to create the music.
