Hi Guys

I saw a few videos on youtube of the AIHL and was wondering what roller puck do they use? is it the rbk one? I figured some you guys might be able to answer this for me

Cheers

Jeremy

I'd guess it's as simple as tradition, IDS was entrenched as the standard puck long before I ever heard of a Rocket Puck.

Maybe an OT question, but why aren't Rocket Pucks used more? I love them...much more than the IDS pucks.

Most organizations in the sport I find use the rocket puck now. State Wars, Narch, PIHA, and Torhs just to name a few.

As with anything else in hockey. For a lot of events, it is whoever ponies up the cash/free product is whose product gets used, not what is perceived to be the better product. IMHO opinion both pucks are pretty decent, so I don't care which one is used. Only ones I can't stand are the really heavy Rbk ones.

Oh don't get me wrong, I like the IDS pucks as well. But when I first used the Rocket Puck, my mind was made up on them.

Has nothing to do with performance. Politics %100. Both pucks are great. I find IDS is outstanding for most surfaces and the Rocket works insanely well on IceCourt.

Does anybody think the IDS puck bounces a LOT?

I play in Huntington Beach and we just had our first game of the new season and I think they started using IDS pucks. I noticed this freakin puck was like a jumping bean.

Sport Court is awful with IDS pucks. We have both in our shop in our shooting area... More pucks bounce out of the area since we switched to IDS over the RBK ones. something about them and sport court dont mix.

Maybe I'm the exception cuz I grew up using IDS but I hate the rocket puck. the PCRHL (philly college) use the rocket puck. It feels way too light and seems to float high far too easily. Even when stickhandling or skating up with some speed, it loves to pop onto its side. Its not just my brick hands either, the other guys on our team all feel the same way.

Irrelevant but the Franklin pucks are by far the worst on sport court. Those things bounce everywhere.
