Does anyone know what gloves USA and Canada are wearing, they appear to be either a new style supreme XXXX without the Nike logo on the cuff or possibly even Bauer XXXXX's .I don't see them on the Bauer site.

Speaking of the kids at the WJC - do they get custom stick patterns provided for them, or are most playing with retail twigs?

Couple things I noticed with the helmets:

None of the american players had their earpieces in - is this not mandatory if you play for the states?

Also, all the Canadian team helmets looked like 9500's with no logos for the first couple games, and now they all have Bauer branded helmets - are they wearing the 9900 now, and Bauer was just unable to get it to them right away?

vek: the players will get their own twigs depending on where they play. I'm sure the Canadian and US teams all have custom sticks (90% positive on this as players like Hall is using an S19 with Canadian flag and his name on it, and some US players had american flag one95's), probably same with some of the other big players in the tournament. Keep in mind if these kids are playing over here in the CHL or another Junior league they are already getting custom sticks.

A couple years ago when the Chilliwack Bruins had Oscar Moller and Moller represented Sweden at the WJHC, I had one of Oscar's sticks in my hands. At the time the Bruins used NBH sticks. Moller's stick was a One90 marked with the Swedish flag and his name. The team trainer told me that the kids in the CHL have access to the same patterns that were available thru the NBH iD Program. The team is now with Easton and a few of the players have patterns that aren't available at retail so I would assume there is a catologue of patterns (like the iD Program) from Easton too. For a player like Hall that uses an extreme toe curve, I would guess his pattern is a true "custom" pattern although from the views I've seen it looks like it could be a Jagr clone.

I know Bauer makes a lot of custom sticks for those guys.

I've got 3 Jordan Eberle ONE90s and just LOVE them. The pattern is similar to a PM9, but the stick is a 95flex, which is pretty nice.

I've seen a bunch of other ONE90s done for the Canada team too... Teubert comes to mind. His was very similar to Eberle's.

Anyways, it's a ONE90 with a Canada flag on the bottom where the usual ONE90 logo is.

From the updated USA Hockey Jr Rule book.

B) It is compulsory for all players in all classifications to wear a hockey helmet, with helmet strap properly

fastened (see Rule 304(d) Note 2).

It is mandatory that all players wear a HECC approved helmet (including ear protection) with the following

exception:

Players, having reached the age of majority, and who sign the proper waiver may wear a non-HECC

approved helmet.

All players on the players’ and the penalty bench must wear the protective helmet/facemask while in the

bench area. For a violation of this rule, after a warning by the Referee, a misconduct penalty shall be

assessed to the offending player.

So if I was any team I would be calling this from the bench!

In the Bauer custom stick rack from the October meeting, I posted photos that included Evander Kane and Angelo Esposito Team Canada ONE95 customs.

Two years ago, I won a pair of the Team Canada Vapor XXXX gloves for about $270. After all the gloves were auctioned, the pair I won sold for the least amount of money. I saw the green Team Canada jerseys today on auction. I think I'd rather have a Don Cherry/Kingston Frontenacs Special than a green TC jersey, JMHO.

I don't really think they're worth that price though

This stuff is usually considered memorabilia and snapped up by collectors. Prices usually get crazy. No place for gear hounds to be sniffing around. :P

Anyone notice the all white with red bottom SE16 one of the Canada Players was using? Other than Souray I haven't seen one with a custom colour before.

Phaneuf had a yellow one last year.

"All net proceeds raised through this auction will go to the Hockey Canada Foundation"

People that buy that stuff can use it as a tax right off. Its the same as donating to a charity.

Hall uses a retail Iginla curve from what I remember.

Judging from what I see on TV, I think Hall is using something other than a Iginla. The curve is too "toey" to be an Iginla and the blade shape is quite different too. My guess is a Jagr clone.
