Kor Stick?

Recommended Posts

I can't speak to whether the guy is actually in possession of the stick(s), however, I can attest to them actually having existed (at least at a design/test roll out perspective). It had been discussed on the board before by one of their engineers (check for the user "breakingparadigms" posts - may recall the name incorrectly though). Seems I saw a PDF describing the product and they were going with a full roll out just before the company direction changed and them going underground (to put it lightly - I am not sure at what level the company and/or factory exists currently).

Regardless, the price seems right if you're wanting to gamble (they likely liquidated stock at pennies on the dollar). 470 grams, however, seems heavier than I recall their target, but I'd have to check as my memory is hazy on that one.

When Kor moved from China to Mexico they purchased a composite factory that made sticks and as a result, they made sticks under the Kor name for a short while. Easton clones on the curves. We have a few left in the store. Not a bad stick, not junk. Well worth the $30 if someone is selling them for that. Kor did sell remaining stock, skates for low $$ so someone could have snatched them up.

Dude claims it's about 480g. If they can sell it at $30 and not lose money, they're using a crap grade of carbon fiber, bottom line.

My impression that the money has already been lost through the initial liquidation of the Kor inventory. Think of this as the odd size sale at the end of the T.J. Maxx winter season.

Stolen as in stolen IP, or stolen as in "fallen off the back of the truck"?

If I remember correctly, there was a rumor that a lot of inventory disappeared from the factory right around the time they closed up. I believe there was even talk of some machinery missing. I can not confirm if that was true, those were simply some of the rumors that were circulating.

It isn't rumor, it is fact.

I do my best to cover my ass when I mention things like that. ;)

I've got one of these off the IW board.

Before anything is else is said, I'm not a stick whore, and I've only recently in the last few months been using an OPS. My experiences are with a XXXX 77 flex, S11 100 flex, and lastly this Kor 100 flex. Vapor and Kor were same height, S11 +1".

The stick which I purchased had a boxier shape than both sticks, more like a one95 I hear.

It was lighter than the S11, but heavier than the Vapor.

In terms of flex I was told I was sent a 100 flex, but it felt like an 85ish to me.

I would say the kickpoint was higher than the xxxx.

I got it last Monday, used it about 10 times for pickup sessions. Broke today around the kickpoint area.

Could just be unfortunate circumstances that it broke, but I'm debating if I should pick up a few more. For the price def a good deal, but durability is the main issue. Maybe if you don't play as frequently as I do, it would last you much longer.
