Hope this link works. After some requests, I threw together this short vid of Sergei Kostitsyn doing up his sticks after a practice with the Hamilton Bulldogs in the AHL during his brief stint here. Hopefully I will do some more behind the scenes vids soon.

That's all he painted. Asked him why and he said he didn't like the colors. I agree, it looks pretty good in the end.

It was a player from the visiting team. Not sure who but he was getting these funny looks from the Bulldog players for hanging around but I guess he wanted to talk Russian with someone while wandering around in his underwear.

Is there any reason you're not posting these on Youtube to attract a wider audience? Getting a good bit of traffic would certainly help you get the rest of them produced.

I have been working on these pieces for the newspaper I work for and it was under those pretenses that I was given the access to the locker room etc. All the players know that I am shooting this for a piece for the paper's website and I didn't feel it would be fair to have it pop up on Youtube first. I figured they would have no problem with it on this site. The Kostitsyn piece is just something I put together for use here-it won't be used for the paper-the finished pieces can and will go to youtube once my employer posts them first (our policy since I don't actually own any rights to these pieces;my paper does).

Can someone get the poor guy some masking tape and a razor blade? You'd have to imagine it'd be easier for him than using white cloth tape off the logo and name-plate.

Actually, I am working on a "what players do piece" that will likely incorporate that segment but I don't have all the pieces I need yet. Besides I'm not sure people would want to watch stick painting as a separate piece. However, since the process is going so slowly (I have tons of footage but need audio to explain it) I have been thinking of just throwing all the little pieces together and posting them rather than trying to make one big cohesive mini-doc. I have to get out of my print mentality where the feature has has to have all the pieces assembled before publication :)

Nice vid. I agree that the warrior sticks are ugly. This is the reason why I bought the ak27 shaft which is a low key design. Cant wait for some more vids.

I thought all of the AHL is Reebok. In the video shown recently of the Hamilton equipment room walk through the Assistant Manager explains that Reebok sticks are the only choice. How is Sergei Kostitsyn allowed to use Warrior?

The paint is Krylon or something like that . As far as the AHL being all Reebok, that is true but each team is allowed a few exceptions which is generally for the guys from the NHL who are sent down to the AHL for conditioning etc. Everyone else must use Reebok. Many of those Reebok 10ks are actually 7k's or CCM sticks repainted as 10k's for marketing purposes. The same goes for gloves. All must use Reebok (or CCM which is owned by Reebok) execept for a few exceptions allowed per team. Kostitsyn was wearing Warrior Franchise gloves and Warrior pant during his brief stint with the Bulldogs
