Gloves are like a blind date: your first impression is usually correct. This date was a dog. Uncomfortable with no flex in the fingers! At a $150 and they came in their own shoebox. On the Antique Roadshow the box will be worth more than the gloves.

Nike is specing the customer to death here.

The only thing that I found half-decent was the AIK shaft. The skates were donkeys and weighed 10lbs after a game. Wasn't the first Troika the AIK with a silvertip ala Easton?

oh man, I had the air accels. I just so happened to desperately need new skates and my dad was in mood to be skate shopping that day, so he told me to just pick a pair of skates. I picked those and even though they looked f'in cool, my feet hated me for it. worst fitting pair of skates I EVER owned. I lied about it for like 40-50 games before I couldn't take it anymore.

that being said, a pair went on eBay for $50 today, I was tempted to buy them to try again.

I had a pair of those gloves, ditched them a few years ago. They were pretty durable and offered some decent protection, but other than that, meh...

I had a pair of the Accel skates in black/white. Destroyed my arches (plantar fasciitis). I missed an entire season because of those skates.

Somewhat but it had a lot more aluminum than the A/G's ever did. It was a bear getting blades in and out of that Nike shaft but the thing was a tank.

I've always wanted a pair of those Nike skates. They looked amazing back in the day and I still think they do. Too bad I never got a chance to wear them, does anyone know what skate they fit similar to?

The Nike skates lasted me a good 5 years as a youth. I was using them earlier this year until I got my CCMs. Actually was really weird that they still fit after 12 years... I guess that's what you get wearing constricting boots half the time you're awake when you're growing. Now that I have modern skates they feel like bricks but hey, I did great things in them.

I remember being so proud to be in the same skates as Gretzky... *sigh*

For anyone interested the skates are true to size. Oh, and I love that their color is Chlorine Blue.

I still have a pair of those gloves...no complaints in the 8 or so years I've used them...they're a tad heavy, but I preferred that as a defenseman
