5'11 - 295lbs (February)

5'11 - 250lbs (April)

Ideal goal is to get to 200 or lower

:D

Did you get a limb amputated? That's quick!

Nice work!

6'1" 245 lbs, I have a theory that my ancestors came from a part of Poland that had a lack of oxes and that they just used every second kid to pull the plows, and that's why I'm big ;)

6' 1" too and around 110kgs. The best bit is being able to crush anyone who gets in the way even if they bump into me, watching them fly off like a pinball gives a quiet sense of fulfillment.

6'6", 220lbs. Awesome to see this thread, rad there are this many other big guys out there. Outdoor roller is ridiculously expensive as a big guy, I'll chow through a set of Labeda Asphalts in a couple of weeks playing semi-regularly.

Any of the other big guys here think Chara is just the best possible example of how to use your size to own your ice? Lots of bigger players who I respect, but Chara is just king of big guys.

Don't forget Tyler Myers. For a rookie defenseman, well, I can't imagine what he's going to be like in his prime.

Add Dustin Byfuglien in his AHL days when he topped 300 lbs.

Are you kidding me! That sounds more like the stats of a football player than a hockey forward. Even his current 260 seems high.

Thats unreal he could be that big and play at that level. I know last spring he was giving the Canucks fits throughout the series, made me worry any time he was on the ice.

He's a big guy with a big frame and carries it well. I don't think you'll see him under 250.

6'3'' 265lbs.

after playing for my second year i'm finally learning how to use my size and reach to my advantage.

Do you play in a checking league? Just curious. I'm new so I'm not that great of a skater. It would be nice if I could lay a couple of the good but tiny guys out once in awhile.

This is true! I am 310 right now and most people look at me and guess 250-260. When you have a big frame, it just is what it is. I mean Ovechkin is 235, so why does 260 seem high? That isn't that big a difference.

No just you average no check beer league. Just put your body between the puck and the opposing player or pin the puck up against the boards and watch the little guys try to move you, basically just watch Burtuzzi.

I suppose there's one quote from Youngblood that doesn't apply anymore.

"Thank God there's a sport for middle sized white boys."

I said that to Nystrom about Komisarek last year at a golf outing.

Yeah being big as its advantages sometimes. People usually move out of my way or pay the price. If I'm going straight you better move over or I'll run you over lol. If I plant my feet in front of the net, I'm next to impossible to move and the goalie doesn't see anything. Mind you, I cover more than half of his net for him though lol. It's just funny though how some players are just clueless and will always run into you, end up on the ice, ass in the air and give you shit because you didn't move to let them go by. When I play D if I'm going to get beat pinching or playing the puck while the guy knocks it on the board to skate on a breakaway, he better choose his path wisely or he's not going anywhere. I always leave 2 feet between me and the boards but some guys insist on try to skate by me, or over me for that matter in that 3 to 4 feet away corridor where I'm standing still, skates well planted into the ice.. The puck goes by me on the side of the board and the player is stopped righ in his tracks lol.

There was one guy one time I was skating and went to get throug splitting the D but one of them kind of stepped in front of me. Next thing you know he's on his ass as I'm skating away. He's a friend of mine and after the game he's like. Here I am stepping in front of the Titan (My nickname) and all I see is the Titan skating over me unhindered. Anyway, I guess you had to be there.

Either way, there are two other 260 plus guys that play at my pick up games and all the others know that we are not about to change our paths if they are in front of us or move over to let them go by but still, once in a while one tries to go through one us and just end up on his ass.
