If we're talking about seasons prior to this one, I'm still going with #77 getting his Cup.

Since you brought that up...Joe Sakic gets the "Best decision by a Captain after receiving the Cup" Award.

I'd put Yzerman in the 98 cup in the conversation too, immediately putting the cup in Vladimir Konstantinov's lap.

Not to take anything away from Sakic but I don't think there has ever been an easier decision in hockey.

True...

Didn't that game wind down with Bourque going toward the bench to make a final line change...and none of the d-men standing up to come on...so he be on the ice when the game ended?

Haha I was going to post something similar. I think any captain would have had the common sense to pass it off like that.

Patrick Kane manages to gain entry into the offensive zone by himself better then any player I have ever seen. Anyone do it better?

Oh, and Darren Helm may be the best penalty killer in the league too. That guy is a beast

Helm is a great PKer, but Mike Richards is unreal on the PK.

Underrated, but Wolski has disgusting hands, he just doesn't show them too often.

Richards, that guy is just awesome. Top 10 player in the league maybe. I haven't given that statement much thought, but right now I believe it lol.

I was actually thinking top 10 in the league. In terms of overall effectiveness, not pure skill and offensive ability obviously. I mean taking defensive play, leadership, physical play, everything into account. I know I am pushing it. But put it this way, if I was building a team, I think he would be the absolute best second line center imaginable. And two centers gives you two good lines. Ask Pitt.

Just to fill out my opinions a bit more:

Hardest Slapshot- Souray no question. This guy has broken the SAME pane of glass, twice, in under three minutes. Weber and MAB have BOMBS too.

Most accurate shot - Kovalchuk. Clapper, wrister, snapper, doesn't eve matter, this guy puts it where he wants it

Hardest wrister - Semin. Hands down. His wrister is unreal

Quickest release - Gaborik has a great release. Kovy has a nice one as well.

Best backhand - Datsyuk.

One Timer - Stamkos.

Shootout magic - Jussi Jokinen! He's gone to the SEL now I believe, but Petteri Nummelin was a good one too.

Faster Skater - Lombardi has serious wheels

Best Skater Overall: Nick Lidstrom. He's never, ever out of position, cause he has seamless transitions.

Best Hitter - Andy Sutton. The guy throws 4 or 5 HUGE hits a game.

Best Stickhandler - Datsyuk easily, The guy can stickhandle in a phonebook. H.M. - Kovalev when he feels like trying.

Best Passer - Sedins.

Best Leader - Tough one. It's hard to quantify "leadership". Toews looks like he's growing into it. Duchene looks like he's getting some too.

Best Fighter - Colton Orr. (Homer post)

Best Grinder - Darren Helm. The guy brings 100% ever single shift.

I'd say Toews would fit that role juuust a bit more then M. Richards.

Is that sarcasm lol? I think Richards and Toews are comparible to be honest with you. I would be quite happy with either one.

Nope, completely serious. I think Toews still has alot of growing to do, and he's very close, if not on par with Richards already. When he fills out and matures a bit more, oh boy.
