I could see Dallas taking a chance. We need some veteran defense pretty bad, and we've already taken a chance on one injury case in the form of Lehtonen. I bet the deal will be very manageable, just the fact of fitting the contract into our budget.

Yeah but doesnt Dallas have a self imposed cap that is several million less than the current NHL cap. That will make it tough to take on a contract like Sourays

4.5 million cap hit is still fairly high but could be a legitimate risk to take if he's 100% healthy. He had a great season in 2008-2009 with 53 points but in 07-08 he played on ly 26 games and last season 37. But IMO he's too prone to injury to risk a 4.5 million cap hit unless he's a last resort type of deal.

$4.5 in sallary but his cap hit is $5.4. With that cap #, Sourays injury history, and the fact that he just demanded a trade, Edmonton isnt gonna be able to get anything for him.
