I have two of his 10k's in a shaft and one complete OPS.

The blade is long with not much curve and a neutral face.

All of his sticks in recent history are stamped pasha with 13 on a red piece of electrical tape with no butt end. He loves pine tar so I've never been able to find one that I could figure out the flex but I'd say its between 90-100.

He plays with a very long stick.

When I get home I'll get you some more precise numbers and pictures.

I do not know if it is accurate, but on pattern db it looks similar to a longer pm 9 to me.

All true exactly. I had one of his old 7k customs.

I also have had a couple of Datsyuk sticks. I measured the blade before, and it is within regulation. Johnny's comments were spot on with respect to the curve. The lie is very high too.

In his early years, he used an 85 flex with a mid-toe curve. Over the last few years, he has gone to a very, very long stick. These long sticks are 100 or 110 flex - I have seen both, but mostly 100 flex. The length of his sticks contribute greatly to his takeaways. I have never heard an announcer or analyst point this out. Next time you watch a Wings, watch how Datsyuk lifts sticks so easily because of the stick length.

If you're looking for a similar curve, I would say the Mission Rafalski is close. I don't know enough about Bauer curves to compare. The Rbk P38 isn't even close to his real curvep it is closer, however, to his 85 flex curve except for the lie.

Its definitely not powerflex tape as I have seen both and they're different.

Could be tennis gauze grip tape...I used that for a while. Much better than Powerflex IMO...grippy but not as sticky, and thinner. Only downside is it ate through palms like crazy.

Yea it looks a lot like the Renfrew red grip tape I use. To me, the Powerflex stuff seems way more durable and a little thicker when compared to the Renfrew tape. But how about that blade? It looks exactly like the old Bauer Vaper XX blade, no? Man I'd kill for some of those for my tapered 10k's!

I used to play with 4k stick with datsyuk curve. It's somewhat curved up at the toe area.

I now switched to Bauer X:20 PM9 (zedenberg) curve and like it better, maybe because I'm a beginner it works better for stick handling and overall puck control for me. PM9 is more straight.

One pretty remarkable thing about Pavel, is the fact that he used to have really short sticks. And that is not so many years ago, while now he uses really long sticks!! Pretty unique I would say. I have a couple of his old ccm vector ops with the square toe he used before as well. Flex is 40 kP on those.

i always thought the lie would be quite low, considering his low stick and he seems to stickhandle far from his body. i would have guessed a 5.

i saw a batch of his pro stock 10k in my lhs they where pretty cheap 100-120$. his pattern is a midheel with sligthly open toe.
