Warrior Pro Series vs Bauer 4 Roll

Recommended Posts

i have a pair of the pro series gloves. (14" black/white/yellow)

i like the gloves, they are very comfortable and protective.

however, they have not turned out to be very durable. after having them for about a month, the stitching around the side padding on the index and pinky fingers began to fray, unwind, whatever. they just haven't held up very well. also the white tufftek discolors very easily. the liner also takes a very long time to dry out. on the other hand, i got them on sale for $65.00, so i can't complain too much.

they are also quite a bit narrower than the bauer 4 rolls, so beware of that if you like a loose-fitting glove.

the warrior glove that you are looking at is the 2009 model. the 2010 is available

http://www.hockeyworld.com/index/page/prod...oves+-+Sr+%2710 for the same price.

i bought a pair of these last week. they seem to have worked out the stitching issues. these gloves feel a lot more solid than their predecessors. they also have a different liner. i've only worn them for three games so far, but i think they are a superior glove to the 2009 model.

Thanks so much for your input! I didnt even see the 2010 ones. I will definitely be getting those over the 09s. I was already kind of leaning toward the Warriors but just wanted to check. And my hands are really skinny so thats great that they're narrow. Thanks a ton!!

I had a pair of Warrior Pro Series fall apart on me the first time that I used them. They're super comfortable, I wish that I was confident enough in them to buy another pair. I say go for the Bauer 4 Rolls.

Did you have the 09s or the 2010. And what happened to them? Did the stitching rip out?

There were some fraying issues on some of the 2009 models of the ProSeries. We fixed that issue on all gloves for the 2010 models by using Tufftek and PU Leather in those areas.

Thats great to hear. What are the palms like on them. Same as the old Mac Daddys?

I believe that they were 09s, purchased in December of 09. The forefinger stitching popped on both gloves. I should add that Warrior did in fact take very good care of me and upgraded me through warranty. I love Warrior gloves, but just from my experience, I don't know if I'd feel comfortable buying that specific model again.

I agree. I like alot of warriors gloves, just not this model so much. I'd go with the bauer 4 rolls.

I also had issues with the first run of the Pro Series. The Fubar model. The stitching in the Pointer-Finger side wall came out rather quickly, although the little section that came out was all. The whole piece of leather stay attached with just a little flap opening... not a huge issue.

However, my biggest peeve with the glove, and they have definitely fixed this, was the black leather palms. They felt great, but after every session there was black-dye all over my hands. Just a nit-picking thing.

I picked up the new 2010 Pro Series and they are miles above the first few models.

I would go with those, but I don't like how loose the 4 rolls fit.

Was that(first run) 2009? Have a shot at getting the teal Pro series with black leather palm....buddy wants $125 or best offer? What would be a good offer for these gloves, in your opinion? I love the looks of these gloves!! Thanks

While they were not for me the 4 rolls are the best bang for your buck at 100 dollars. They have an amazing palm and great cuff. They are just roomy but so are the pro series.

Those are the ones I had, in Black w/ White Stripes. The palms got on my nerves.

I've had similar experiences. I have big hands and long fingers. Best fitting gloves I've ever had, but palm blew out within a couple of month and the stitching on the pinkie fingers of both gloves came entirely undone by the end of one season. The quality is absolute junk. My experience with these gloves confirms my suspicion that Warrior is more of a marketing company than a gear manufacturer. I think they have visions of Nike, which makes notoriously crappy running gear and simply licenses out its golf gear from Precept (or at least used to).
