Need help with Synergy (stick) model

Recommended Posts

What's the current equivalent model for the "old school" synergy. The last time I bought one there was basically 2 choices and now there are like 20. Drastically ranging in price. The one I fondled was a se6 and I didn't like the feel. If I have to pay 200 bucks today for what I spent 120 then I'm going back to my 5030's. Thanks

BTW it was this one

the original synergy grip was the top of the line, even though the SE16 (which is the current top model synergy) is FAR superior... which is why you see the big price difference. just like anything, the top model of yesteryear can hardly ever be compared to the current offering (cars, hockey sticks, computers, etc).

the best thing about OPS now compared to then is that there are far more choices from far more brands, so if you dont like the feel of the SE6, you may like the X:40, one85 , 7k, 6k, AK, Swizzle, etc.

or you can do what bostonjr said and buy closeouts.

I would potentially argue the ST is current equvelant. Problem is....there is not a current equiv.

Zach

I agree with you.

Thanks for all the help. I have been looking for closeouts/ebay etc. but no luck in a RH curve with flex I like. I'm sure that the top of the line today is better than 6yrs ago but the materials and production methods aren't much different are they? Easton will charge whatever somebody will spend and that's fine. As far as all the new options go, that's cool too. I'm ok with spending a little over a hundred on a nicely balanced stick that won't lose it's zip for awhile but the only ones I handled that felt better balanced than my 5030's were waaayyy pricey. Guess I'll hold out on ebay/closeouts. Thanks again.

One more thing. I remember conning my mom into buying a composite KOHO back in like 1983. I'm pretty sure it was dark blue and had a cylindrical shaft. I think it sold for around 75 bucks which was a LOT to spend on a stick back then. The thing looked super cool and high tech but it quickly became a street stick. Anyone else remember those?

I would agree with that as well, ST is probably the most similar.
