Alfie wearing them is a big deal - I remember it took quite a bit of convincing for Bauer to change him out from old Supremes to ONExx..

When I spoke with Dave Cruikshank he mentioned he was making a road trip to speak with several players about the skates.

Mine are dialed in pretty well now. A small adjustment of the blade makes a pretty big change. I suspect this will turn a lot of players off.

Wouldn't the ability to be able to adjust your blade be a plus?

Only if you actually know what you're doing. Considering how hard it is to find a good sharpener, I can't imagine how hard it will be to find someone that really knows what they're doing with an adjustable skate blade.

The folks at MLX were extremely helpful. A very small change can make a very big difference. If you're the type that can understand what a given change should do it will be a plus, assuming you have the inclination to spend the time. If you want optimal performance out of the box then no, it's not a plus.

I'm a Bio-Medical engineer, when MLX tells me making X change will have Y result I'm able to understand why. They are at this point willing to take the time to explain.

Honestly it took me 15 games to get them completely dialed in. For a skater that has plenty of ice time they could be set up fairly quickly. A once a weeker might get discouraged. I really like them at this point. More so because I took a hard shot off the inside of my foot last night that suspect would have broken something had I been wearing my 3000's. Instead I have a bruise and didn't miss a shift.

How is the fit overall ? How is the feel? Are they stiff ? Aside form being able to adjust the blade to your center of gravity anything else these things have that others don't ?

I had an old pair of Koho inline hockey skates where there was an option to adjust the angle of the chassis relative to the boot by loosening the front bolt and sliding the chassis left or right. It was interesting for me, but never really caught on with anybody else.

Would you say you liked the feature, even though it didn't catch on?
