Reebok Hockey pant identifier codes?

Recommended Posts

I just bought some Reebok pants and they have an identifier code but no model. They are a two piece construction, upper unsnaps from lower pant. The code is, 09I-SUP-HPNCAA-BM, does anyone know how to decipher this?

Those are some flavor of the 520 pant. Looks like the NCAA version (heavier denier outer).

What model is the 520? I'm not familiar with much outside of their "K" lines of product.

The "k" is reebok and the 520 are ccm. Maybe these are just rebranded as reebok as that is what appears to say on the leg.

Not 100% on the lower (because I wear different lowers), but the upper looks the identical my RBK (JOFA) 7000MHP's, the were bought as NCAA pro-stock.

I see what you mean. The pants in the picture look like a cross between a pair of echl pants and the reebok stock pant from last year.

520 is an older CCM design that is extremely popular at pro levels. I had a pair of the retail version a decade ago that were fantastic. Like much of the pro product, Reebok didn't change much and simply put their logo on it for pro use. NCAA falls under "pro" for this purpose as well.

chadd, i'm assuming you're currently wearing the us version tackla 9000 airs? if so, can you tell me what the difference in fit is in regards to pant length and how high the hip pads go as compared to the 520's? also, do you have any idea what the differences are between the 520 and 501?

I stopped by a Play it Again Sports and they were the only XL and brand new. I traded in my used 3K's for $10 and the 520's were marked at $29.99, final cost $21 and change with tax. They put their price sticker over the size label, but I can see it says 520.

Hips seem to be higher on my Tacklas, but the length is similar. The biggest difference to me is that the Tackla has an articulated thigh pad, making them a little more comfortable to skate in. It's not like the solid thigh pad caused any real problems, just that the hinge on the side of the pad allows the Tacklas to break in more quickly and move with your leg a little easier.

That's a steal, I think retail when they were new back in the late 90s was somewhere around $100.

Does anyone have a list of 520 codes?

I got a pair and the tag says MHP520S.SP, and I'm curious what the S.SP designates.

S pants are slightly lighter then regular 520 because of shell material

actually I asked Reebok Hockey on facebook about the 520 codes and they couldn't answer

if you get any info please post here

They seem to be Boston College pants they look like the ones my friend has. They do look like the 9Ks a bit but also look like the 7k's I have. I will try to find out a bit more for ya.

I've got the MHP520CHL.SP, most likely from the Portland Winterhawks. I don't know how the CHL pants differ from other versions.
