Isnt it essentially like a Lidström? Big open face, good for saucers.

Now I imagine this is NOT the actual curve of Ryan Getlaz, it would one of the first forwards Ive ever seen use this type of curve, preferred among Ds

Its the retail Getzlaf, Lidstrom, type patterns. And Vinny Lecavalier uses that curve. TONS of forwards use a Drury type pattern, which is somewhat similar to the Getz/Lids.

i use the Getz/Lids. i started out playing roller hockey using the jagr/c-21 curve which is a heel hook like the Lids (at least it used to be, i see it called a mid now and maybe it is now, but i remember it being a heel hook). i got really used to that curve and had spent the most time on it. I would have used that curve on ice, but its ABS and torques like a mofo. the best curve i found for ice that stayed close to the c21 was the TPS Tucker/Perry but they don't make them anymore. the next best thing i've found is the Lids, but its a bit more open than i'd like. the other thing that i like about the Lids is the lack of a big rocker. playing roller i would basically "wear down" the blade to the rocker that i like (being not much of one).

i don't consider the drury to be all that close to the Lids. drury is a very slight heel curve with more wedge. i've tried a bunch of curves and really only feel totally at home with a heel. i wish TPS would bring back the Perry curve....

When I said similar I was referring to the fact that they were both open face heel curves.

similar would be jovo in warrior.. it is like saying all mid curves are the same.. they arent.. the lidstrom is very unique.. kane and iggy and recchi would be "similar" the lids is either a clone ie jovo or not

This is my favorite curve...but I can't use it for the outdoor roller league I'm in since they don't make it with ABS.

I found it was perfect for sniping the top corners and it had a really nice big sweetspot for slappers and one timers. I never had trouble cradling the puck for a really quick pass. It was also pretty good for getting pucks along the wall.

Since I'm forced to use an ABS blade, I go with a Crosby 2K and it's similar in the sense that it's long and has an open face to help elevate the puck...but it's still not as good as the Getzlaf.

(Sidebar: If anyone can point me in the direction of an ABS Getzlaf curve or a closer clone than what I'm using...please let me know!)

I've wasted so much money trying to find something else I like... but the tucker/perry was perfect for me.

Have you found anything other than the lidstrom that's similar? I'd gotten pretty used to the lidstrom but have switched back to my original Perry (the new TPS Perry is the identical to the lids), and the original perry is better. Also trying a Bauer X60 Drury (91a) but.. blech.

I find it easier to pick the puck out of the corners and push up ice with than some of the other curves I use.

It is similar in curvature to the Kane/Naslund and Sakic, but with a square toe. I sometimes have to watch it or I'll end up flipping the puck out of the rink if I get lazy with my passing or shooting.

When you say similar you mean big curve with an open face correct? The Lids/Jovo/Getz isn't a mid like the sakic types right? I was always under the impression the Gets/Lids/Jovo were heel curves.

Gets/Lids/Jovo is definitely a heel. Folks and manufacturers are all over the place with the Sakic/Naslund descriptions. Some call it a mid, some call it a mid toe, some just call it a toe. I think it was Mack that said that to him it looks like a mid-heel with some toe thrown in, and I'm in that camp as well.

isn't the TPS Perry another Drury-like pattern? I have one and I picked it up cause it was similar to the Bauer P106

Finally got my stick with the Jovo/Getz/Lids curve on it and its gonna take some gettin used to for sure. I feels more like a mid to me..maybe a little mid-heel like previously stated. I was expecting it to be more of a heel.

Now that I'm hooked on this curve, I was wondering in your opinions if it will stick around for quite a while.I've read on here of curves that just disappeared or gradually changed to something completely different.

Doubt it, it's a staple, pretty much the only squared off retail pattern from all the major brands.

Love this curve, I use the 055 Stoll curve (tps) which is a slightly bigger heel/mid-heel curve, with a slightly less open face and the square toe. Still very similar to the Getz/Lindstrom.

I never limit myself to one curve though, right now i have the Stoll, Coffey, and a zetterburg, and I prefer the coffey for offense and the stoll for defense, good for digging and poke checks, decent for wristers and slaps. Lousy for stickhandling, but that's mostly user error.

The Coffey curve has been called a 'crutch' by many, and I kinda agree,but it won't stop me from using it, and I'll ALWAYS have a Lindstrom clone in my collection.

I just switched my two piece to a Getz curve and love it. Wrist shots seem to have more zing. Originally got it for the square toe.

Agree with the previous poster, wish they had an ABS version.
