NJ Devils 2010-2011

Recommended Posts

break up the Devils!! 2 in a row baby!! Kovy with 2 goals tonight! Why can't we play the Bolts every night?? lol

Too bad Clemmer is pretty solid against us...I think he has 3 wins now. That overtime goal was WEAK. Tallinder and Fayne, probably the worst d pairing we had, can't clear the zone for like 50ish seconds then on the actual shot, Tallinder never stepped up and Fayne moved RIGHT in front of Marty. I don't understand why Salmela was placed on waivers while Fayne is still playing in the NHL...

It's not just the D's responsibility to clear the zone. The forwards need to get it out of the grey areas.

That play was mostly the D's fault. Fayne and Tallinder were awful on the whole play....Really weak along the boards. Kovy had a nice shift and almost got to the pass across D to D that led to that goal and the guy was able to walk by Zajac but playing 4-4 without a center, the D has to be better along the boards and outwork the other team...

On a streak now, got 13 of the last 14 available points. Word on the street is that they're "trolling the NHL"

They have to go something like 27-5-3 to make the playoffs, do it!

I believe!!

They have to take it one game at a time, just wish they won like 7 or 8 more games the 1st half!

At this point is it MacLean is a bad coach or the team is just coming around?

I see that they play with much more hunger and aggressiveness than before.

Ithink it's borth, but they're playing so much better than they were before. Maybe with Jacques back, Langenbrunner being traded away they just realized that nobody is safe if you know what I mean. Also Tedenby, Elias and Rolston are all on fire and Kovalchuk is playing some defense!

so rumor that the Devils are for sale is kinda scary...or at least could be scary for a RFA like Parise, as well as any UFA that might look at this organization.

rumor reported by Michele Steele of Bloomberg TV...dunno her credibility

I gotta think that the Russian Billionaire who owns the NJ Nets will be all over this if it is true.

They've been trying to get him involved for a while now.

So although it's not Vanderbeek and it's the lesser owners in Brick City, it still might turn out to be a really messy situation as Brick City might be able to force Vanderbeek, who owns 50% to still sell the team and arena rights.

They've been trying to get him involved for a while now.

Although there were rumors that they pushed for Kovy because they wanted to attract the new Nets owner, it has since been denied that it was the case. Take that for what you will.

That being said, I doubt the Nets owner, Prokhorov, has any interest. He has a huge rebuilt to do with the Nets and really is pushing the Nets to Brooklyn. If the Nets were staying at Prudential Center and the Brooklyn project was still in the mix, there might be more interest but I doubt he has any interest. As a huge fan, I wouldn't want him going near the team because of how much he wants the Nets out of Jersey...

This team could be scary going down the stretch. Kovy is starting to fire on all cylinders, and Lemaire has this team running in the right direction. I really think they could sneak into the playoffs. I did NOT see this coming at all.

We can only hope. It's REALLY going to be close. They're 10 points out, assuming Carolina or the Rangers really don't cover any ground.

You may hope. But I sure as Hell don't. Look at my avatar. hahaha

With what the Flyers did to the Devils last year, and with the way both teams are playing this year, the Devils could have just signed John Orr and I wouldn't be concerned.

23 games left. I believe...

This really does say something about Johnny Mac though. The turn around has been so drastic.

I know lol, his career is probably over. I can't imagine that you can find work after this happens.

Oh, I saw it, I know ;)

The Flyers were underdogs last season if I remember correctly. A lot of upsets in the playoffs.

If he can learn from what happened, he might get another shot.

Shame that Lou didn't pull the trigger sooner on MacLean & Langenbrunner, could have been in a better spot for sure. MacLean just wasn't ready. Lowell had a record of 39-31-4 with him as head coach. Far from impressive compared to Guy Boucher's record of 52-17-3.

But if I'm not mistaken, that was one of the most successful seasons they had in a while...so that was pretty impressive.

And I'm surprised bout Langs. He has never really been the same with the C, even when he had 29 goals a few years ago. But he seems to be the downfall of both the Devils and Stars now. can't imagine whats going on with him. Just a crazy concept...even if it's not him. He just seems to be a cancer where ever he goes, even if its not his fault.

I really wanted him gone last year before the deadline. And then after what he did about being sat on the last game of the year before the playoffs, I though with the cap problems that he would've been the first gone.

Yea, something's up with him. Stars were rollin' pretty smooth until he came in. Even when Lemaire came back, they only won 1 out of the first eight. The winning started after he was gone. Not sure what it is. Who knows, MacLean might have fared better if Langs was gone sooner.
