Warrior Diablo

Recommended Posts

Just finished another game with the stick, got two more on mon and tues.

The pop is great, I can't imagine what it would be like on the widow. I

Flubbed a few passes with it today but that's probably lack of skill more than anything. The d-lite blade is really nice for receiving passes, for reference I am someone who loved the one95 blade and slightly disliked the pingy/hollow feel of the totalone stick/blade.

The toe didn't get any worse so hopefully it stays that way.

If/when this stick breaks I will most likely buy another one unless warrior magically offers 75 flex for the widow lol.

I actually like this stick so much I'm going to sell my barely used totalone (had two broke one) to a teammate who broke his stick tonight.

Don't let the toe issue scare you away, it could be a one off. However I felt it necessary to point out that I experienced this problem as warrior blades (in the past) have been known for chipping/splitting/delaming quite frequently.

Thanks for the reviews guys.

I've had nothing but bad luck with Warrior blades. Being in Canada, I paid $269.99 for the Diablo. I don't really wanna risk that much if there wasn't any improvement in blade durability. It seemed that way with the lack of positive feedback and non-support for Warrior sticks by LHS in my city.

The performance of the Diablo sounds great. I was gonna return it and wait for a LHS to stock the Widow as I'm hoping the x-stitch will help with blade durability. I really liked my '11 Dolo till the blade crapped out. I don't know.....maybe I'll give it a go.

If it helps at all in your decision I have a warrior dolo '11 (bought in January of this year) which has zero issues with the blade, it was rotated every other game with my totalone and is now my backup stick to the diablo. A teammate of mine has a Widow and he is REALLY rough on his sticks. His blade hasn't had any issues, but he split the toe on his totalone in 3 games haha.

I also live in Canada so I feel your pain regarding pricing of sticks, my lhs (The Hockeyshop) sells the Widow for 269 and the Diablo for 239 so I'm ashamed to say I order all my sticks online now since I live so close to Pt Roberts/Blaine :(

Very much agree with Gymmonster and Gr8erade reviews. Great upgrade from last years Dolo. After two scrimmage sessions and a game, blade is holding up just fine, no chips or cracks. Shaft is holding up too, after a few slashes. all type of shots are faster. the Dagger technology is legit. Great stick!

I forgot about this thread....

So my blade didn't hold up but it was a very good stick for its lifetime. If you're liking your shots with the Diablo you'll love your shots with the Widow!

I saw that the Kremlin curve will be available on the SE Widow, will that be the case with the Diablo's as well?

I just received my Diablo on Tuesday. So far I had only the chance to use it during open hockey yesterday but just shot around because we didn't have many people show up. Great feel and I love how whippy it is! We'll see how it goes in my game next Monday. But definitely a great stick so far.

Anyone have anymore opinions on this stick? I am looking at picking one up tomorrow.

I noticed a chip near the heel of my blade after my 2nd game with the stick last night. I have another game tonight. Hopefully it doesn't get worse.... right away at least.

So, after 3 months of hockey 3x/week, stick broke. Most likely due a nice slash. Broke just above the heel, below the fused point. There were chips in the heel area, but that wasn't the issue. Loved the stick, great shots, great handling! So I got another one. :-)

My Dolo broke under warranty. Warrior replaced it with a Diablo. I was a bit bummed they didn't offer them in a 110 flex (which is what my Dolo was), so got the 100 due to no better option. I haven't used it yet, but was a bit surprised at how blade heavy it was. Anyone else notice that? I'd be curious to feel the Widow and Diablo side-by-side to see how the Widow feels balance wise.

Just as an aside, to bring up an earlier point regarding why not spend the extra $30 I mimic someone else's point on the 11k verses 9k. I prefer the 9k for some reason. Felt better balanced to me.

Giving some impressions of the Diablo...

I have been using a retail, 75 flex Lidstrom, and I cannot say enough positive things about this stick. The balance, the kick, the durability. Warrior has a serious winner with this stick. I have used every Warrior top level offering of the past 4 seasons, and I'd say the performance of the Diablo is second to none. (As an aside, I have yet to use the Widow or Dynasty this season) It feels a little smaller in my hands than the Dolo or Kronik, but not to the point it's a detriment in play. I play D in two leagues, so my sticks normally take a beating, the Diablo hasn't flinched. Shots are still as crisp (and hard) 30 days after taking the very first. Aesthetically, it has an understated, classy look. I also love matte, unfinished blades (opposed to glossy finishes).

Nice work, Warrior!

I can't find anywhere that sells the diablo se in a gionta curve. According to the warrior site it is available. Where can I order one?

Any Warrior dealer should be able to order it for you. Warrior is showing limited stock, but they do have them in both grip and clear left and right.

I have one on my shelf, though I'm not a mail order place. But you're LHS should be able to get it for you if they're a Warrior dealer.
