Identify Pro Stock S19 Sticks

Recommended Posts

I received 2 Ray Whittney Pro Stock S19 Sticks. They have some code #s on the back of the stick and was cusrious what they meant. The first stick is 08D615. Then further down they shaft it says W 4 HY 10. The next stick is 04D314 W 3 HY 10. Thanks in advance, BTW; Love these things. Lightest stick I have ever held and has taken quite a beating from idiots slashing and still going strong.

I cant translate exactly which numbers mean what... but I'm pretty sure its just something to do with what factory, machine, and batch they were made in. Retail sticks have the same thing, or at least partly.

Really curious to know which, if any, of these codes indicates the flex.

I dont think anything indicates the flex, however I could be wrong. I do believe the 3 and the 4 indicate the lie of the blade. It's a pretty low lie for sure and the 3 is lower than the 4 when next to eachother.

I don't know which it is, but I was told that a certain letter or number indicates a "base" flex (like 85, 100, 110, etc). Then there is a number after that for the increase in the flex to what the stick is actually at.

When I ordered my pro stock Spezza's from PSHG that is what the rep told me on the phone.

This may seem to obvious, but usually sticks come with a sticker on top that indicates everything.

I think the bar code would give you more readable info, if its visible.

I don't think I've ever seen an Easton pro stock without a bar code sticker.

Bar code sticker on the inside correct? Whats weird is that I have an old Zubov Pro Stock Stealth (blue) and it has nothing on the outside like my Whittney Pro Stock S19 does. I'll take the tape off the butt end tomorrow and check it out. Still curious what everything else means on the shaft.

no the barcode on the outside that says " SYENHL DRURY 100" for example

i think the markings on the shaft have more to do with the date of manufacture than anything else

I thought for sure one of the Vets on here or the Easton Rep would be able to give me some info. If for whatever reason yuou dont want to share it. Please simply PM me. Thanks.

I've got a S19 Schenn with the Silver barcode Y95438, and a S17 Tyutin without the sliver barcode.

The decals on the Tyutin are a little crooked and looks like a rebrand. If it is, would that be why there's no silver barcode on it.

You guys would know better than me.

With all of the collective knowledge on a board like this from a few specific sources that are involved within the industry (former and current equipment reps for several companies), this information would likely have been addressed before if anyone truly knew. Unless we have any Easton insiders, which I don't think have ever shown up, no one knows how to decipher any of the codes or even if they truly contain any information (yet).

what else do you possibly need to know about a stick besides what's on the bar code stickers at the top of sticks?

I was curious of the flex more than anything. Possibly the curve as well. I pretty much figured that the other info printed on the stick discribes the lie.

With regards to curves the only time the curve is listed on a pro stick is when it's a retail curve. That info would be on the bar code sticker if anywhere.

It's probably a custom curve so what info would there to be to gather about it from the codes?

Also flex is sometimes on the bar code as well.

Well here is the bar code Y48413....I cant see the flex being any of these #s other than possibly 84.

there's nothing to gather from that code.......

There's no big secret to easton codes either. What's circled in red is what would tell you anything about the stick

What Easton has told us in the past is that the codes are batch information, not related to performance aspects of the stick. Essentially, it would help them figure out if there were problems with particular batches. I don't know if that has changed recently or not. Until I hear otherwise, I will go with what I have been told by Easton.
