Warrior Franchise Gloves

Recommended Posts

So why does everybody rave about these gloves? I've never seen them in person, but what makes them so desirable to everyone? Also is there a difference between the MIA ones and the plain warrior ones?

I second raganblink. Additionally, they're much lighter than some other retail mitts like NBH four rolls.

My friend who has more experience with MIA says the only real difference is the quality control.

So which is better? The MIA ones or the Warrior ones? Btw i was thinking of pulling the trigger on these http://cgi.ebay.com/Warrior-Franchise-Sr-Hockey-Gloves-/110690967992?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item19c5b221b8

one warning about those for you: it's my understanding that you're a beginner player, no? a lot of people consider white gloves to be a "flashy" piece of gear worn by players that can back it up on the ice. for me, I couldn't care less but I sold the white pair of MIA gloves I had (never wore them) because I didn't want to keep up with cleaning them as they will get dirty very quickly.

as for your other question: I have both MIA and Warrior gloves and I find there to be almost no difference at all. both are exceptional gloves although it's getting harder and harder to find MIA gloves in mint condition.

Hmm thats a very good point. Any one know if a buyer can take someones bid away? And i think im going to keep the new gear whore inside me alone for a while. The 10k's i got for 30$ from the glads sale work great and i'm not good enough to warrant fanchise's. But hopefully one day i'll be able too

Oh and yes Shoeshine i am a begginer! Can't wait to get on the ice for the 2nd time on wednesday!

These gloves are comfy, have durable palms and tons of customizable features that make the glove unique to the person ordering.

The newer ones have slight differences than the older ones. The thumb padding is different. The outter pinky finger padding is different. The cuff is different. I think the cuff roll is even a little different.

If you go with a custom pair, you can go with different palms, colors, cuffs, gussets, etc.

I really like the gloves and have had several pairs. I'm currently waiting for my newest custom pair and I plan to order another custom pair in the near future.

Enjoy the gloves!

I wear Franchise now and prefer them to my previous glove, Eagle. The comfort is top notch, but a plus is the silver shield liner (the yellow liner, ironically) offered by Warrior. This liner is pretty nifty as it keeps the gloves from smelling poorly. I air out/febreeze my gear after practice and games, however my Eagles seemed to stick regardless.

They are extremely comfortable, fit nice and you can easily get customs done. I prefer them to the Eagle PPFs I was previously wearing.

Is there a big difference between the '09 Franchises and the newer ones? I'm thinking of picking up a pair of the '09s from TotalHockey with my next paycheck. They're $140 compared to $220 for this year's.

Or are they the MIA ones you guys are talking about? I see that they do say MIA on the Warrior logo on the thumb.

All franchises have the MiA logo on the thumb. I got the '09 Tampa ones that they have on total hockey, and the only difference i can see is that they don't have the blooming cuff. Maybe a fee other minor differences. FYI, not sure if the 2010s do, but the 09s don't have mesh gussets.

This is wrong. The newer Franchises do not have the MIA logo on the thumb, they only have the Warrior W. The thumb padding is also different on the newer ones, as is the blooming cuff. As for the gussets, they are a custom option, the retail ones don't have them, no matter what year.

basically right with the exception of the "in-stock customs" from PSHG. for $169 you get the mustang palm and mesh gussets. the only downside to these is no plastic inserts. :(

I know these aren't "retail" per se but they're not full custom either.

Uh, since those "in-stock customs" are not the retail Franchises, I'm more than "basically right."

Huh, well I have the 09s and they have the Mia logo under the W, and I'm looking at a pic of the 2011 franchises on hockey monkey, and they have it too... So no, I'm not wrong unless the sites selling them are too.

Maybe just customs and pro stocks have the warrior W. My Prostock ones have no MIA branding on the thumb, but those on hockeymonkey do. Weird.
