I'm not sure if you'll be able to get a blade in an S19 with the elliptical taper. You might have to cut off a lot of stick before you find a point where a blade will go in clean.

If you want to buy a used/broken OPS, then there is no way to judge the durability. Every stick will have seen different levels of use/abuse, even if they are the same model. Cutting or flipping them so you can put a standard blade in them will also kill any comparison on the flex as well. The sticks simply weren't designed to be used upside down and cutting from the bottom will render them so stiff that they won't flex.

I cut an SE16 down to take tapered or standard blades and it doesn't shoot for crap on either side. Not much difference in flex either.

I would personally go for the tapered rig because blades are about the same price and availability but it's better balance.

isn't a problem...

why isn't it a problem? I don't understand. I'd think if you have to cut off a bunch of the stick to get to a point where a standard blade would fit you'd disrupt the integrity of the stick.

I cut a SE16 OPS to put a ABS blade (unfortunately i don't play in a smooth field)and although it is not the same it is a good cue.

So if i have two shaft same flex, same lenght, same usury,APPROXIMATELY which you would use?

The truth? I would not buy the broken shaft and a blade, instead find a deal on a pro-stock one95. I've seen them for around $100 various places.

I am not sure what you are playing, exactly. Sounds like street hockey. In that case, I don't think you are going to notice a diff between an EQ50 and an S19. Take which ever is cheaper between the 2.

I'm an hockey in line italian player but in Italy is difficult to have a smooth field so i MUST play with abs blades.even more difficult is finding cheap stick:for example in Italy an 11k is sold to 500 dollars (http://prifa.com/prodotti.asp?id=1263&pagina=1&catmain=14&catsub1=18&catsub2=15&offerte=&search=)while in America you can buy it for 209 dollars on hockeymonkey,so to save money i'll buy broken sticks :(

You're in European Union, so buy in other countries. No taxes there, just shipping fee and prices are better. Try Germany for example, if I remember correctly, Reebokk 11k costs around 210 Euro. You can find similar pricetag in Czech Republic, Slovakia, Scandinavia.. basicly anywhere where hockey is popular.

Finnish prices:

Reebok 11k 85-110flex 179€

Reebok 11k 65-75flex 149€

CCM U+ PRO 85-110flex 149€

CCM U+ PRO 75flex 129€

Easton stick pricing is ridiculous for some reason, I'm not even gonna post those.
