Bauer Concept 2 breathing issue

Recommended Posts

Guys, I don't usually post on here and I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this but I ran into a problem. Normally I wear a visor but due to an Injury I have to wear a full shield (bauer concept 2) for a few weeks. Are there any tricks I can use to modify this and make breathing easier. Like I said I only have to wear it for a few weeks and will be switching back.

It's not so much the fogging that is a problem. It's more the problem of not being able to breathe very well. I know there isn't much you can do about it, but any little bit would help at this point.

Coming from a visor.... You're probably just used to having no restriction from the air. Hopefully you'll get used to it. I use one myself instead of a visor for ice. It's nice having a full set of teeth. haha

It's a catch 22...but skate faster. The more you move, the more air comes into the face shield. I never had issues with mine, but it did sit farther away from my face...maybe you can doing that by lowering the jclips forcing the cage to stick out a bit.

How are you supposed to ignore a breathing problem? If i had a breathing problem, regardless of how much it was in my head or not i'd have a hard time shaking it.

He's trying to make it seem like the cage is restricting his breathing. I have a VERY hard time believing that, as does Chadd. Hence, the mental aspect.

I used the same thing and agree that it is not a usual problem. Probably you just used to have it to free. Like in old times pro's couldn't use helmet at all for some reason

Gotta say, I'm with Chadd. I don't think a company like Bauer would have something on the market that restricts breathing. Plus, that thing has been around forever and this is the first time anyone's complained about it? (on here at least...)

It's most likely a minor case of claustrophobia. The concept II does not make it difficult to breathe, or restrict airflow in any way, though it can feel very close and uncomfortable to someone that isn't used to it.
