go with what you like best depending on your personal preferences irrespective of what Ovie uses...

if certification is important to you then only certain visors would cut it.

plus whether you want anti-fog/anti-scratch coating.

if it's your first visor I'd personally not worry about tinted/mirrored/coloured and would simply blend into the crowd with the clear one :)

just my .5:

Oakley's have a really good anti-fog coating

Yep! I would strongly suggest Oakley. I have had a few other brands and with Oakley I hardly ever have to apply anti-fog spray, Plus you get a nice helmet bag.

I used a cage up through the end of college hockey when I was allowed to remove it. I've since gone a handful of years with no sort of face protection, but just picked up an Oakley visor and started using it. No change in visibility whatsoever and you don't even notice it while playing.

Helmet bag, do you need to buy from a particular place to get that? I didnt get one with mine.

I have a bauer pro cut aviator and love it. I would highly recommend putting your helmet in a pillow case or something so it doesn't scratch or lose the anti-fog coating

It came with mine from Hockey Monkey. It is a very nice protective cloth bag....interesting?

any experience with the under armour visors?

i have the UA visor on my back-up helmet. it sits pretty far from the face like a previous poster said. it's also a pain to install due to the fact that the screws it comes with are too short (atleast for my application).

I'm on my third Bauer/Itech straight cut visor & haven't had any complaints. Great visibility & doesn't fog when I play. Easy to care for as well.

Thx for replys.

My choice is Bauer Straight Cut Pro Half Shield, but i need help: Clear/Tined ?

That is totally up to you. Some prefer clear, some prefer tinted, some hate tinted. Try whatever you think you will like best. If it works for you, who cares about other peoples opinions on to what they would do.

Oh ok, I got mine from icewarehouse. I bought a helmet bag off of Amazon for $4 that seems to be a fleece material and should do the job of protecting it.

How difference in vision: Clear/Tined ? Tined has positive features compared the clear?

Tinted simply darkens everything a bit. Think of it as a sunglasses for the rink. I have to have tinted or migraines the night of/morning after playing. Honestly though, unless the light in the rink bothers your eyes immensely I would probably go with a clear visor.

Not to mention the (potential) abuse you'll take for wearing a tinted visor unless you have an eye condition or are very very good.
