A kid on my team came to the rink with a new stick yesterday called the Maxx Energy.He said it was made in Taiwan.The stick is red like the Si-core Grip red. On the shaft it say 100% graphite, 500 grams and 105 flex. It looks like they copied the Vapor XX and synergy becase the x`s on the stick are like the Vapor XX on the Vapor XX and the "nergy" part kind of looks like the Synergy. He had a pretty good shot with it and i was wondering if anybody else has heard of it.

It's one of the knockoffs that is available. I would expect to see more of them as time goes on, much like in the golf industry.

... there were a bunch of sticks like that at (real canadian) superstore... they sold out really fast... i think they were like 69.99 or something like that... i was flexing the "110" flex and it felt like a 85... it was disgusting

I saw 3 booths at the Super Show selling these knockoffs.

They all came in Easton colors too...it was great...

Easier said than done. The brand that the "big 5" will be chasing at the low-end is GEAR, which is marketed by HockeyGiant. The numbers in which these guys sell the GEAR sticks is unreal, plus, they have a 30-day money back guarantee, not a warranty, like the others.

Bauer and CCM have already gotten into this price range in '04, with both Mission and TPS following in '05, yet, GEAR still has out sold the Bauer and CCM models.

It will be interesting to see if Easton follows suit in this low-end market for '05, or, if they will be content to keep their reign in the high-end market.

I saw a bunch called N-Stick-ator at Superstore, too. Hilarious sticks... shaft was so rounded it was like an axehandle - oval shaped.

I know the Ultra Carbon junoir came in a 60. But nonetheless it's a crappy shaft.

I happen to know the guy who owns the patent to the X-Cite. Ok sticks, I used one. Very stiff, VERY thin blade on the old version, now they have foamin them. They're true one pieces too. I wouldn't rate them over a Vapor V however, but since they are cheap, and dealed out at GM (where like 75% of people dads work) alot of kids in my area have them.

How couldnt they? They could just put it in the contract that if they sell any of the knock off brands that it voids there contract, and they arent allowed to sell their brand of sticks anymore.

If a company did that, I'd sell one of the competitors that didn't require it. There are plenty of options and most people are willing to try new stuff. It's also probably not legal to do so.

All saints...your school is so good for lax. We played them in provincials last year, wrecked us pretty well. I played for S.A.C when I was still in Ontario.

yeah i have the energy maxx to say the least its not a bad stick it has performed well enough for me to still use it, it feels like a synergy but i like the feel more and i dont like to drop 200+ on sticks that i usually break so, my opinion is that its a good quality stick for a reasonable price
