StamkosWannaBe 0 Report post Posted March 16, 2012 i recently went in to my LHS and ended up trying on the eagle x95/x65 gloves... i found them to be the most comfortable gloves that i have ever had on my hand.... what i would like to know is your feedback on the gloves, protection durability etc.... thanks
17D1998 1 Report post Posted March 16, 2012 If x95 gloves are anything like my PPFs, it should be a HUGE upgrade from your Bauer 4 rolls. I have them too and they're not even comparable in terms of comfort. The palms are much better too, MSH2 is pretty much the best palm material you can get. From what I understand x65 has a different liner but is basically the same thing, coud be wrong tho. Bottom line is, you can't go wrong with Eagle
halfmoonyote 0 Report post Posted March 16, 2012 X95 is a great glove. I know some people have varying opinions on the newer Eagle stuff, but I think it's a well made glove. That said, if you do a Google Site search here (up at the top of this page) with the terms EAGLE GLOVES you will get:About 5,680 results (0.28 seconds)
ty_tanium 1 Report post Posted March 16, 2012 i went from bauer 4-rolls to a pair of Eagle PPF...ill basically never wear anything other then eagle again, such an amazing glove
wrangler 157 Report post Posted March 16, 2012 I've got PPF+ and like them fine. I'm definitely sold on MSH2 for palms.
shoeshine boy 249 Report post Posted March 16, 2012 I own several pairs of Eagles, mostly PPfi. they are awesome gloves and the MSH2 palm is my favorite. I even had my first pair of Warrior Franchise customs repalmed with MSH2 back when you could still do that. :)
StamkosWannaBe 0 Report post Posted March 23, 2012 yeah the liner is an insanely big deal for me anyways.. but the protection and build, from what i have found anyways is basically the same..
ngray734 0 Report post Posted March 23, 2012 Maybe I'm the minority but I don't like the feel of the Eagles anymore. I don't know whats changed since they were purchased by Vaughn but something seems off to me. I had 3 pairs of Eagles in the past and loved them. I got a pair of PPF's for Christmas and took them right back.
Hooah4 12 Report post Posted March 23, 2012 Love my 2 pair of Eagle gloves. CP94 and X70. Nothing has come close in feel IMO save the new CL gloves from CCM.
Les213 1 Report post Posted March 23, 2012 @Shoeshineboy, do you find PPFi's have very short fingers compared to a warrior franchise for example? Does it move at all after break-in?

Does it move at all after break-in?no, compared to a 13N Franchise. if anything the fingers might be a smidge longer.
parasitepig 0 Report post Posted March 23, 2012 hey shoeshine,A couple of weeks ago I got my hand slashed in a game, I wear PPF's and I thought the kid broke my thumb. Do you find that the custom warrior's offer more protection than the PPF's?
shoeshine boy 249 Report post Posted March 23, 2012 I think there's something about teh thumb that's better on Warriors. I get hacked a lot on faceoffs and I never feel it in the Warrios but do a little on the PPFi's.
Stoop 1 Report post Posted April 4, 2012 Is there going to be a review/discussion of the 2012 Eagle catalog? I'm confused by all the new PPF models.
AIREAYE 248 Report post Posted April 4, 2012 I'm interested in this as well, very curious about the new Talon lineup.

McDougalfaschnitzer 32 Report post Posted April 4, 2012 I got to try on the Talon, and while comfy, they did not feel like they would protect me, and it didn't feel like I was wearing a top of the line glove. I was kind of hoping for more.
Andoy 5 Report post Posted April 5, 2012 If this years Talons are anything like the 2011 model then no they are not exactly high end. I have a pair of Talons and PPFs and while both have plastic inserts and whatnot, they are less dense on the Talons. I know Andy McDonald from the St. Louis blues wears Talons but I would think his glove is different from retail.
Stoop 1 Report post Posted April 5, 2012 It looks like the Talon comes in three different quality levels now. There's a pdf of the catalogue on Eagle's website.
Andoy 5 Report post Posted April 5, 2012 Ah, just saw. I'm guessing last year's lone Talon model is what the Talon 60 is based on.I'm 50/50 on their 2012 range. Their shoulders look interesting though
Monty22 835 Report post Posted April 6, 2012 Not a fan of the back roll graphic on the PPF's. If the fit is the same as years prior they will still end up being my next pair of gloves.

booyaagrandma 4 Report post Posted April 6, 2012 Have a few pairs of pre Vaughn PPF's and they are amazing gloves.Had a pair of post buy out and they were a bit stiffer and tighter.Still great gloves but I preferred the pre Vaughns much better.
