You can already see from the first few post that this is nothing more than a joke. If you want to start a womens pro game go right ahead but don't mock all the women that work hard playing in college, the IIHF and at the Olympics by making a peep show out of the great sport that is hockey.

Of course it is a joke. I was making a joke when I said "must see TV". It will go away (if it ever get's on) for the same reason the Lingerie Football League went away (nothing to see here, move along). It is ridiculous from the get go... just from the standpoint of you can't really play "real", even non-contact hockey, without pads. It wont be selacious enough to attract a large enough audience on those grounds and it won't be good enough hockey to attract enough audience on those grounds.

Exactly, and it's why I can't see this being remotely successful. Women playing football is extremely rare, so I think the novelty of women playing the sport is partially why the lingerie league was somewhat successful. Women playing hockey is quite common and not a novelty... and there are probably a thousand other things most guys would like to watch bikini clad women do than play hockey.

There's no interest in legit women's sports in terms of spectators. The WNBA is a charity for the NBA, that short lived pro soccer league. You almost have to go this way with it, but the novelty wears off really quickly.
