Knock Out The Lockout

Knock Out The Lockout

Wear Your Hockey Jersey Day, Dec. 15

Dear hockey fan,

If you're a NHL hockey fan, I am sure you have at least one hockey jersey. Now, if you don't play hockey, chances are that your jersey is hanging in your closet, untouched. Here's a chance for you to dust off your jersey and try to make a difference!

I was going through my closet the other night and I came across my Red Wings jersey. I suddenly became sad; I realized that there's a chance I wouldn't get to wear it to a hockey game this season. I thought to myself, "Wouldn't it be cool to have hockey fans all over the world unite and wear their favorite jersey to show the world, and especially the two parties involved that we miss our sport?"

I cordially invite all fans to wear a NHL hockey jersey on December 15th. Wear it to work. Wear it to school!

Bring back the game - knock out the Lockout!

Kristin

Excellent idea B)

Hell, I'll even wash my shirt for the occasion. Maybe, just maybe the owners and the players will get the message that there’s a third party affected by this lockout, us FANS! Get onboard, get a button. It's our game too.

Well done krisrt4tin

jr. what you need to organize is for everybody that lives in a nhl town to go to the local nhl arena with their jersey on... if not, go to your local rink with the jersey... all at a certain time on that day.

LOL...Kristin wants everyone in Detroit to go to JLA and line up on the steps...you better be there! Bring your brother - I'm sure someone will come up to him and say "Hey, I saw you when I went to the bathroom!" ;)

Stupid question here...

Is this an actual widely-known nationwide activity or is it just something that Kristin and/or J.R. have started? Either way, great idea and I'm game.

It's starting here. It is Kristin's idea.

It is actually moving pretty well. It's on every major hockey-related bulletin board, including all of the official NHL team ones.

The press release will be done tonight and sent out to certain media outlets tomorrow.

If you guys have any other ways of promoting it, shoot me an email.

Cool. I'll print up a flyer and throw it up onto my rink's bulletin board. Or maybe someone could quickly come up with a snazzy-looking printable flyer that we could all use.

My board got wind of this over at TheStateofHockey.net and we are more than happy to participate!

I also put some links and such on other sites to spread the word. Good idea!

Sure are. Even though the NHL is locked out, we still have a really active board with the WCHA teams, OHL discussions, and high school.

Let me know if there is anything else that you need.

I also posted it on AllDucks.com's Message Board.
