Is this lace bite?

Recommended Posts

Kind of hard to seein the pic. This started as a real small dark bruise now looks like this. Can't figure if it's from skates or I banged my shin at one point. Nothing on my left leg. I switched to mako's and have skated on them 5 times. I HAVE NO PAIN ANYWHERE IN MY FEET OR SHIN WHEN I SKATE. Just this mark.

I don't know of anyone who has lace bite on their shin! This looks like a scrape or knock of some kind that is slowly healing.

If it doesn't hurt when you skate, I would say you knocked it up against something.

Looks like a healing bruise to me.

My lace bite hot spot was at the front of my leg but right above where my ankle is. And until i stayed off it for a while and bought a bunga pad it was in pain every time I skated. As soon as I tied my skates, stood up and leaned forward... Ouch!

It does not look like lace bite, I assume you feel this, but lace bite would be as others say on the tendon in the instep where your ankle flexes.

You feel lace bite on the tendon and is caused most time when you are trying to overcome the improper contour of your skate. I had that problem until I had the 1/4" shim place on my back heel. I could have take the blade down some on the front, but this way I was saving blade.

If the contour was like mine I was having a difficult time getting over the front of my toes and it translates into pressure exerted on the tendon and eventually the tendon becomes very sore.

Corrected an error that may be of significance. I added 1/4" of "puck board" or plastic to the rear heel and immediately I overcame the lace bite.

I was fighting the high front edge of my blade with every step causing pressure on my tendon under the tongue.

Can you upload some foto (I added 1/4" of "puck board" or plastic to the rear heel and immediately I overcame the lace bite)?

Sure,

Give me some time to take a photo and find out how to post it.

I will do it now, advise the steps to take to upload, I will make a small size (kb) photo.

I have taken some low-res photos with one photo of the 3mm shims that I used on my right skate for over pronation problem.

Let me know how to upload

There must be an internal way to upload from MSH, I would rather not give out my email to an unknown site.

Let me know as I have the photos all ready.

We do not allow user uploaded images anymore. We had an issue with people posting "infected" files in the past.

I have seen at least one posted late last week?

I will gladly send it to your email address, but I would like for people to see what was done.

Get back to me,

Alan

Does your internet provider include space for a personal web page in your subscription? Many, if not most, do. You could upload pictures to it and link to them.

It appears I have been told that we are not allowed to post any photos etc. If anyone can clear this up for me I would appreciate it.

I did receive the email address of one person so I could send it to him that way and he received the photos this morning.

Regards - Alan

Thanks Larry, but I don't think so. I have emailed the photos, but a "picture on the screen is worth a bird in the hand" :)
