Weekend Tournament Checklist

Recommended Posts

I'm an avid reader here, don't post too often but I couldn't find anything for a weekend tournament checklist. I'll be going away today to play in a local adult tournament but will be staying nearby. Don't need any DUI's :p

I was looking around the house at anything extra I may need to pack.

I threw in some extra steel and a 3rd stick so far. Any other suggestions?

Thanks.

I took a dry shirt and socks for every game to the tournament we did recently. A floor fan for drying gear if that matters to you.

My checklist:

1 Helmet

2 Visors

Helmet screw set (always have this because it's handy as heck)

Visor cleaner 2 rags

Elbows

2 Pairs of gloves

Pair of pants extra belt

shins

Skates and extra steel sharpened of course.

Nut driver for steel removal

2 pairs of skate socks

2 under shirts

Big fan

Can of febreze for hotel room

Edit: Never less than 4 sticks. Most of the time I'll travel with 6

That's my gear list. Everything else is pretty self explanatory haha!

A case of water and/or gatorade/powerade type stuff as well as some energy bars can help if you have a quick turnaround. You might want to take a grill and some food to cook if you're going to be there overnight. Cut up a roast and dump in some marinade, it will be a lot healthier and cheaper than ordering pizza or burgers. We use bamboo skewers instead of plastic utensils. Burgers or dogs on the grill are another easy and quick option too

Check and check. We got burgers, a power inverter and a George foreman. Too last minute to bring grill stuff.

As many undergarments for as many games you are playing. If back to back I always change my top it will get cold b4 the next game starts.

A few other items I've brought to tournaments not mentioned yet.

Heat Gun

Wax

Tape (all kinds)

Miraclestone

Screwdriver

Laces

Extra Water Bottles.

Good luck and bring home the GOLD!

Just brought my equipment and enough clothes to change every time I played. Also bought a case of bottled water and brought a tub of Extend with me. Everything worked out fine.

Does the rink know you're planning on camping there?

You'll probably need to think about where you'll be able to crap (without pissing off said arena's staff) once the rink is closed.

I keep electrolyte tablets (I use Electrolyte Stamina, found on Amazon.com, link below) in my hockey bag. For multiple game days, I bring bananas, too. I have found both to be helpful in getting me ready to play the day after too much beer. The electrolyte tabs have helped save me from cramping up/getting spasms on days with more than 1 game.

I've also found things like that are very helpful. I actually purchased a ton of boxes of Gatorlyte. That stuff works great for a night of beer drinking but also during multi-game days.
