Issues With Jock/Cup

Recommended Posts

Hi,

So I have been noticing that the more I am really dialing in on my stride, My cup seems to get in the way on the return of my leg when striding... So when after I push out and coming back in towards my other foot, my cup is getting pinched in between my legs and it feels really uncomfortable. I have never had this problem before and have not gotten a new cup or anything but I have changed into a lower stance on the ice which is yielding great results. Anybody have any advice?...I was thinking on using one of my older smaller cups but if you have any advice/ personal experience please share.

Compression shorts? Less friction, some continual tension on the muscle to keep it from really scraping?

the jock in eastons stealth compression pant and short is fantastic, keeps the cup in place perfectly i never even notice it. I might mention im a little husky too and have had issues in the past with similar issues as the OP, but this new jock has worked out great. I was coming from a rbk compression short/jock which was horrible.

I always remove the cup from any short/pant/compression combo. I find that it doesn't fit close enough.

I then use a regular, separate cup/jock supporter.

I also prefer the wider, traditional cups. They seem to work better than the new slimmer cups.

I'm in the same boat, though I prefer the compression shorts. I just find that everything stays put a lot better for me.

Its possible the jock isnt seated snug against you, that maybe why you are getting the pinch between your thighs. To echo everyone else, slap some compression shorts over them and see what happens. If that doesnt work are you wearing a wedge style jock that most Baseball players wear; it comes to a point at the bottom?

I tried an all-in-one compression/jock/velcro system by Bauer and ditched it within my first 5 skates. It was too compressive in the nether regions, and the cup was never comfortable. I currently use Under Armor compression shorts, due to the extra pocket for my rocket that doesn't mash things in too far, with a Shock Docter cup + garter belt + SD's carbon fiber cup. I forget I'm wearing it when I leave the locker room, and I definitely prefer the garter system to the velcro.

Thanks for all the replies. For those wondering, I currently use the bauer nexus compression style jock. I also have a warrior jock but they both give me issues. The cup that came with the bauer was so uncomfortable and pinching my legs that I actually removed it and use the warrior cup in the bauer jock. I think I might just purchase the size lower to see if that is better

I have recently purchased a Rbk 10k (same cup shape as the 8k), and I haven't had a problem with pinching in stride ever since. Different cup design than any other I own (Rbk 7k compression, Bauer jock shorts, UA compression jock, alkali ca5 girdle) and it works for me.

I've been wearing the Nutty Buddy cup for the last 3 years, and it's the most comfortable and protective cup I've ever used. It was invented by a baseball player and you just place it inside a regular jock or compression short. It's doesn't move and I've taken shots off it with no damage. There's nothing better.
