Sliding Elbow Pads

Recommended Posts

I have the CCM U+ Fit 09 Sr Elbow pads. I have a really hard time that they are slipping down my arm while I play and I constantly have to pull them up. I sewn in some more velcro to try to pull them tighter, but that doesnt seem to have worked. Does anyone know of a good way to stop them from slipping? or have a recommendation of a similar (elbow pads with 3 separate sections) that is better with not slipping.

Thanks!!

Try a different brand or model of elbows.

I had some cheapo Louisville pads that did that. My Bauer Supreme One55 pads fit great.

Like skates, different brands and models will fit different peoples elbows. Find the ones that fit you instead of trying to make the wrong ones fit.

Clear tape the bows unless you want to buy new hockey under apparel. Maybe cut some old socks and wear those on your elbows could be an insanely cheap option as well.

Had the same problem. I was inbetween a small and medium. The only solution I've found has been a pair of pro stock elbows. Reebok 7K - size 4 (small). The nice thing about pro stock protective gear is that it's all slightly larger than retail.

I've always had problems with elbow pads slipping until I switched to yours, the U+ 09s, actually. Possibly the sizing could be off? If you like the 3 piece elbow pads you should have a look at the Easton synergy HTXs. I tried them on the other day in a store and they felt great.

I've always had issues with elbows slipping down and my base layer has the sticking material to keep them from slipping.

Yesterday I tried tapping them along the bottom strap and that solved my issues.

Does anyone know which long performance shirts allow for wrapping back around the elbow pads? I really like that idea...

Any shirt will work really. I wear an underarmour compression shirt and that works fine

The Shock Doctor one posted earlier in this thread advertises that it allows for this, although I think the Under Armour one I have has enough extra length in the sleeves to do it (I find the grip pattern, coupled with my Warrior Franchise elbows is more than enough to keep them from slipping).

This is good to know. Thank you!
