Newer Pant Models with Wider Legs

Recommended Posts

I recently picked up a pair of Tacks XF and the legs/hips are super narrow despite the tacks line being touted as more of a volume fit. The length and waist are fine in a medium but they feel pretty restrictive and constantly hit or get stuck on the top of my (also XF) shinpads.

Any suggestions for a current model that is wider in the hips/quads and doesn’t fit like a diaper? The Bauer HP Pro looks interesting if anyone has tried those. I would also give pro stock a look but I don’t have time to comb the usual places for a black medium pair in good/new condition. Another option could be the XF in a large but then they start to get a bit long and sloppy in the waist. Cheers guys.

True has some deal with Tackla, so their new pants have the classic Tackla fit. I’ve never had any wish for better than that. The fit, feel, function, and look are all great IMO.

I'm a Tackla guy.  If my current pair ever falls apart (It took the last ones 20 years,) maybe I'll look into these.

Same. I have a pair of Air 9000s that are still holding on from the ‘90s. They’re beat up, but still amazing.

I just grabbed some true A6.0 pants (older model) and the wide legs are fantastic.  I actually went to a junior size pants.  They are nice and snug around the waist and flare out at the legs.  No more shins getting caught and they still have that close fitting feel.  I don’t even unzip the legs.  They might be considered on the heavier side but I don’t really feel it while playing.  Very protective as well
