Oakley Straight Cut Visor

Recommended Posts

I have to buy one of this horrid things for next season. I'll be playing mostly FIRS ruled Inline with it but will do abit of IIHF Inline and Ice comp as well.

What are they like I currently am using just a helmet. Im told the Oakleys are as close to wearing nothing as it gets. Is there any truth to such claims?

Any comments welcome...:)

Are the non-vented visors supposed to fog up less than the vented ones?

Other way around

My vented model fogs up pretty good. AFR helps for most of the game, but not the entire game.

I have the aviator style Oakley. It's much better than the Itech visor that I had before and I've never had a problem with it fogging up.

I wear the straight small, which is even shorter than that one.

That's the best one I've used so far. I'm going to give the Itech HS22 wave a shot when we get our booking order in.

the only thing i notice with oakley visors is that once there is a small scratch, it seems like the whole visor has been throw away... or it seems like there are scratches on the whole visor... it isn't as clear... i don't know why, but thats the expierence i've had with my oakley visors... i've switched to itech...

I have had mine for over 6 months now and mine doesnt fog up at all. However, my friends who have had theirs for a little longer DO fog up considerably.

If you get one scratch or scuff on it, youre pretty much screwed because of that special coating on the visors to prevent it from fogging and if you use anything other than the cleaning solution they recommend, it could lead to this very weird cracking wherever the scuff or scratch is.

I've had no problem getting scuffs off my Oakley visor. Small scratches won't effect the fogging of the visor but once you get too many then you'll have a hard time seeing through it.

Ditto. I just use the Oakley AFR spray before every skate.

It's true that the Oakely fogs up more as you play more. I just noticed last night that my visor started to fog while sitting on the bench, and this didn't happen previously. I will see if the AFR spray will work any wonders in this respect.

Btw, I first got the Straight cut for it's looks (and Oakley) but later found that the anti-fogging is quite a dramatic change from my previous cheapo itech visor. Definitely check it out.

i've had my oakley pro modified cut for several months now and have had no problems at all. vison is one of the best. i don't even use any anti fog spray. i just whip it down with water before and after every game. little to no fogging. my only gripe is the price. buying one is an investment almost. itechs are cheaper and just as good. i'll probably try those after my oakley goes.
