nyhockey6 1 Report post Posted February 15, 2005 Has anyone seen it yet? I picked it up today and just got finished watching it. I thought this movie was amazing. It reminded me alot of Seven with Brad Pitt and Morgan Freeman.
Fonya 0 Report post Posted February 15, 2005 There was already a thread on this when it was in theatres. There was a bit of opinions in there, if you want to search it.
this guy 0 Report post Posted February 16, 2005 One of the best movies I have seen in a while. The acting at the end was stupid though. There was a classic line by Danny Glover too- "I'll kill you, you sick ass hoe!!" I laughed so hard in the theatres when that happened. Very good ending too. nyhockey6 1 Report post Posted February 16, 2005 Yeah, the acting did get a little corny towards the end. How everything got tied together was really good, I'll give them alot of credit for that. It did totally come out of left field. BTW whitby_wildcats90AA, I just got the movie today on DVD and had no idea that this topic was mentioned months ago when the movie came out. So sorry for bringing it up again
notorious#29 0 Report post Posted February 16, 2005 The only thing I liked was the ending. The rest of it was just OK.

mack 44 Report post Posted February 16, 2005 I still don't see what kind of sequel they'd make after it. The fact it got the greenlight before its first weekend was over scared me too.
Eazy_b97 1 Report post Posted February 16, 2005 I want to see it again, I forgot most of it. I couldn't believe it was on Roeperts WORST 10 list.
Kirsch 1 Report post Posted February 16, 2005 I really like Saw. The acting, as mentioned earlier, was awful but the plot and ending were great.
mack 44 Report post Posted February 16, 2005 Maybe I'm too analytical at things but I saw some of the goofs that should have been picked up on. Still somewhat original and a nice twist.
nyhockey6 1 Report post Posted February 16, 2005 Yeah Mack, I totally agree there were a few "holes" or stuff that could have been more defined.About a Sequel, I found this one a site tonight.DETAILS- "Hacksaw" is supposedly the subtitle for the film. - It's said that the film will go in a different direction than the first. - The project has supposedly been in the works since last November. - It's been said that a few characters from the original will be returning. - The script they're using for the film is actually an unrelated horror script that was bought by another writer and modified to fit the killer Jigsaw and other returning characters.- Original director James Wan or original writer Leigh Whannell (Played Adam) will most likely only have executive-producing roles on the project.I was talking to a friend about it after my game tonight and the whole vibe totally reminded me of conversations I had with friend after watching the 1st Blair Witch Movie. It's the kind of movie that just has people buzzing about it.
Eazy_b97 1 Report post Posted February 16, 2005 **********SPOILERS IN MY POST!*******************One thing that always bugged me about the movie. For every scenaro there was a way out, and they could've "avoided" being harmed. How the hell was the last guy supposed to come out alive? I don't call losing a limb unharmed. LegoDoom 0 Report post Posted February 16, 2005 I thought the first 30 minutes were interesting and the rest was absolutely terrible. And I don't dislike a lot of movies.
Vapor 0 Report post Posted February 16, 2005 I liked it, pretty original and different, terrible acting, but a nice twist

Well he could have saved a limb if he'd actually killed Adam, the photographer. I think Adam got the shaft on that one because his 'out' wasn't as attainable as the other peoples'. I mean where's the chance he'd have recognised the key floating by him as soon as he wakes up underwater?
Sven 1 Report post Posted February 16, 2005 at the moment this movie is in the cinemas in germany.i really like this movie, the first 30-40 minutes were kinda disturbing and 'sick minded' but after that the real movie started.. but i liked this film

nyhockey6 1 Report post Posted February 17, 2005 I dunno if it's just me but I absolutely hated the Exorcist. I rented it one night and I shut it off cause I didn't like it at all.
headonaswivel 1 Report post Posted February 17, 2005 Terrible acting. That dude should have packed 'er in after The Princess Bride. What I don't understand is what Zips flaws were. He was nice and spoke highly of the killer when he was in the hosptial bed, so why the need to bring him into it?
cbettner66 0 Report post Posted February 17, 2005 i liked The Saw alot despite some of the "acting" - i saw this movie not long after i saw The Grudge and im sorry but The Grudge blows the pants off of saw as far as crapping your pants factor...What do u guys think? I thoguht it was ok but it was still one of the sickest minded movies i have seen. The whole F*** me jesus thing really turned me off though. I thought that was pushin it a little far. nyhockey6 1 Report post Posted February 17, 2005 Cary Elwes did have 1 decent movie after The Princess Bride it was Robin Hood Men in Tights. That was a great flick, with a young Dave Chappelle.Yeah, they really didn't show why Zep was picked by the Killer, besides the Poison thing. But how did he manage to Poison him. Like I mentioned in my previous post, there were alot of plot holes that needed to be filled. What I don't understand is what Zips flaws were. He was nice and spoke highly of the killer when he was in the hosptial bed, so why the need to bring him into it?The Grudge was one of the worst movies I've seen. I can't believe I wasted $18.99 on the DVD.Are american filmmakers that desperate that we have to copy every asian horror flick now? What can we not come up with an original movie anymore. The best "Scary" movies in my opinion are like the 1st Nightmare on Elm Street or Halloween 1. Stuff like that. Not these cookie cutter "scary" movies today like Boogeymen
Eazy_b97 1 Report post Posted February 17, 2005 I'm a sucker for real villains "Super-evil" villains. There's too many murder/mystery movies. I liked Saw, but the others aren't up there in my opinion. Alot of movies are giving fearful things faces, which I don't like because everyone is picturing something in their mind then the director shows something nobody fears. I'm noticing this with alot of King and Craven based ideas.
Fonya 0 Report post Posted February 17, 2005 I loved Halloween 1, one of the scariest flicks in a long time. The ending was sweet, Mike Myers gets shot out of the window and when they look in the backyard hes gone.........yes!!
